Don't do it Ozchick...get those thoughts out of your head right now! Kill those things off this minute and go back to not being a detective. Nothing worse than sowing your own seeds of doubt when there is no need.

Get a grip, woman! No going through his current phone without permission, ok? Old phone is different since he gave that to you. If his old phone is clean then his new one probably is. Anyway everyone our age or older has their past and is entitled to their privacy. Trust him to handle unwelcome intrusions appropriately, since he has proven himself so far.

YOU are his present, geddit? The old flames in his inbox are the past, YOU are the one by his side now. Rejoice in that dear. And don't go snooping around unless you want to risk being another old flame in his inbox soon.

Heed the advice above, Ozchick because it's sound.

How will that knowledge help you except sow the seeds of distrust and ugly suspicion? It's his past. Unless you're in fact actually concerened about his faithfulness and loyalty to you now? Is that what's really the issue? C'mon fess up.

Ozchick - If you go down that road there is little chance of going back, doubt is a crippling thing, besides would you like the rooster to check your phone whenever the suspicion hit him? Doubt kills trust faster than anything.

Talking about phones getting wet, I got home from work, my son was in the bath - I go to say Hi and start playing with his toy submarine (Really cool remote controlled thingy) - phone in shirt pocket - you guessed it, phone end's up in the bath - 3 year old Nokia, but I was used to it - So had to go get a new one - funny thing though, my initial reaction was not good, but after a couple of weeks using it, I really prefer it, so moral of the story - after some time - you make like the new one better.

p.s. I see no upside at all in perusing someone else's private communications, email, sms's etc.. I think you either trust someone or not and if there is no trust..............
