i learnt it at SAF yacht club last time.

and my friend recommend this place for surfing at sentosa, it has 2 artificial wave pools and quite a cool place to chill.

Looks like there might be some decent enough cross-onshore winds headed our way, at least for you kiters, around this weekend coming.

Yup, this is not the best of seasons if it's wind you're after, it's the intermonsoon, the NE is lingering, the SW is trying to edge its way in. In the end they pretty much cancel each other out, with a lot of fireworks as a result :(

Fingers crossed for the weekend.

I have watched other people, but without a wake, not sure how much fun wakeboarding is?
Well.. u have to try it out urself. Personally, I prefer wakeboarding (Behind the boat) as compare to Cable. Theres alot more to do behind the boat. n much more challenging. At least not going in circles. lol.
If u had snowboard, surfing, or even skateboard.. Wakeboarding is definately ur thing. :)

Why don't u give a shot at both. And decide which u prefer most?
Actually, wakeboarding behind a boat is alot easier, ask any wakeboarder and they will tell you that.

Hi my friend!
is that pure advertisement or a very good experience sharing? Please detail the pros and cons of Mentawai. Do you have advices on the best flights, best time to travel? Is this doable in a 2 day week end like Bali is?
Thanks for your feedback.

surfing place near singapore

Post by hr1z » Wed, 07 Jul 2010 5:09 pm

Yes, the nearest surfing place from singapore are Mentawai and Padang (Indonesia), Padang is the city of Sumatera Islands and Mentawai are the islands near padang.

in Padang you can get small swell that is for beginners, in Mentawai you can get perfect Waves, in the certain month you can get Big Waves, mostly for advance surfers.

Normally surfers need to flight to Padang City ( around 30 minutes), and from Padang they need to booked charter boat to go Mentawai Islands.

Last time they have got flight direct from Singapore - Padang, but right now they don't have anymore. You can go to batam and take flight to padang or you can take flight from singapore to padang transit to jakarta.

I hope this information can help you to find surfing paradise. cheers...
cheers...

Kitesurfing in Singapore and around

Post by Schwalls » Sat, 24 Jul 2010 7:12 pm

Hi folks,

I arrive in Singapore next week, with my sail and my board.
I will be studying at the NUS, but I should have plenty of time to practise Kitesurf.
When is the best season for Kitesurf? Is there any kitesurf spot in Singapore?

Please contact me if you plan to leave for a kitesurf trip. I'm really willing to go surfing soon.

Cheers
