Id be wary and arm yourself first with all the knowledge available on the internet about the most current research regarding training.
I looked for a PT here but found all the ones I spoke to to be very outdated with their methods (regardless of the prices they charged).
In the end I "hired" an online trainer who spices up my routine with different exercise ideas (I only use free weights so can get in a rut quickly). It works fine for me and if you need a training buddy to help motivate you to do the routine then they are far easier to find than a PT (imo).
