Post by moniker » Fri, 12 Sep 2008 11:48 am

Can anyone recommend a hairdressers that knows how to cut curly hair in Singapore? Preferably tried and tested, and also not too pricey.

Thanks!

Sunny at Shunji Matsuo Salon at Wellington bldg, I've been going to her for about 5 years. Good cut for my naturally curly, fine hair. Call them for price. 62381522

I don't quite understand what do you mean by shape it nicely. I'm sure she can style it in bouncy curls that hold their shape.

Do you have natural curly hair?

I have natural, very curly (ringlets type), fine hair, which with her cut, falls nicely in shape with styling products. I have learn to appreciate my natural curls now. I keep my hair chin length. I only need to trim every 2-3 months.

I do tell her that I'm not into anything radical, just want an easy maintainence wash and dry style. So I just wash my hair and put on styling cream/lotion and air dry. My curls fall into place when they dry and does not get all flat on top and thick/puffy at the ends

Before, all the stylist will recommend that I straighten my hair, I suspect it's just to make it easier for them. Otherwise, the way they cut my curly hair, it gets out of shape within a few weeks. Mostly lousy cuts that I had no choice but to keep my hair long and wear it in a pony tail for years.

You do have to tell her what you want though....., radical or conservertive, length, are you willing to spend time to up keep the style etc. Be prepared for appointment time of a week or so.
