In this economic climate, isn't it perhaps better to choose a more affordable option (i.e., Lau Pa Sat), so as no couples need to feel they can't afford it?

Fine by me, I was just throwing things out there as no one else had made any recommendations. I was starting to think the lack of reponse = lack of interest!

By the way, are all the above couples still interested? Xeron and HunBunny have been missing in action

Thanks servicedout for your enthusiasm!
However, if there is no further response by tomorrow night (Thursday), I think Im gonna vote to cancel and reschedule when there is really a stronger interest for people to meet each other!

I am a part of a team of expats (singles and couples) that meet at Santosa for beach vollyball on Sat afternoons. You dont have to be a vollyball champ to participate as everyone in there is a beginner, followed by dinner and drinks. Good oppertunity to meet other expats, get some workout and fun. If interested, lemme know and we can arrange a meeting place.

Hi All,
Due to lack of interest, dinner is cancelled!
Perhaps another time when there is more enthusiasm to meet, we can re-schedule!
Enjoy your weekend.

Hi All!

My hubby and I would be interested in any gathering organised as well! That egyptian restaurant at clarke quay sounds really interesting.

We're not new to Singapore (I've been here 10 years, he's been here for 2-3 yrs) but I think an evening out with a bunch of strangers could be good fun!

I'm german, by the way, and my hubbie is canadian (from toronto). I'm preggo - noticed there are a lot of childless couples in this thread, hope that's ok. I'm 25 and he's 30, so we just barely qualify for the 30's club.

Hi everyone,

Joining the thread a bit late, hoping to catch up with newbies and fun couples, hubby and me are in our early 30s and seeing how most of our friends have moved on, looking to meet some new people...pls do count us in for any future gatherings.

By the way, is anyone keen to meet up on 26th or 27th of this month....would have suggested Xmas Eve but guess everyone wld have made plans.

getting together

Post by KR » Wed, 17 Dec 2008 1:21 pm

Hi guys,

Great we thought we'd be the only ones joining this thread at a late stage :)

We're both in our late 20's and my husband is Australian, I'm Finnish but lived in OZ for the past 5 years.

We'd definitely be up for a catch up over the xmas holidays as KY suggested maybe 27th of Dec would be great???

Look forward to hearing from you girls again :)

We went there last weekend for dinner. You definitely pay more for the atmosphere than the food - I think you can get better (cheaper) Egyptian food in the Arab Qtr, but if you are interested in the bellydancing show, some of the girls are alright! (Although none of them are Egyptian! There were quite a few Russians...)
