I'm may have missed this round's interview but I'll be waiting for the next one and then try out again...
Btw Yukixue, no harm trying since you were there yesterday..It's a waste that you walked away cuz they do hire crews around ht of 156 too, that's what I got from Jetstar crews through pm in this forum..
I'm only 153 or 154 but I still went for it...The next tym u wanna go try, maybe can tie your hair into a mini bob on top and it helps to heighten yourself cuz they measure by the top of your head.. =P
Hi,MademoiselleCher
Is it true that they also consider our height??...It is not stated in the ads for the criteria...
I am only 154....
Did they mention anything about height during the interview??
Hope to hear from you soon

Hi Emiyuki,
JQ did mentioned about minimum height requirements on the ad which is at least 1.58cm but I still went for it...
At the interview they do not tell you anything about height at all, best not to ask as well in case they ask you for real height..
What I suggest you do is, tie a mini bob on the crown of your head when you've decided to go for the interview..
It really helps a lil' if you know what I mean..But whether you can make it through, it still pretty much depends on the 1 on 1 interview too...
Never Say Never!

Hi, MademoiselleCher
Thanks for your reply and advice....
So there is no height-taking involved right??
By the way, will you be goin for the next interview , most probably 2011?

Hi emiyuki ,
your height will be noted for bothe Jetstar intl as well as Jetstar Asia.
but for Jetstar intl, as long as you have a great personality to shine, they actually close one eye about your height.
as for Jetstar asia, they are actually quite strict.. unless they really take a liking to you...
Jetstar Intl would really be a great enviroment to work with as all the crews are international and they dont have the snobbish attitude. I guess the recruitment department really scrutinize and carefully hand pick the right candidates!
Go and try for it despite your height. Im sure they will pick you if you have the right character!
Jiayou and never give up!
Same to you MademoiselleCher!!

I would hope they don't "close one eye to your height". It's really simple. If you can't reach to close the overhead racks you can't do your job. If you're not tall enough to pull down medical equipment, or blankets or anything else that might be needed, you're not doing your job.
I really hope JetStar is not this lax.

Hello strong eagle, with regards to your concern, I think I can help try to explain a little. That day during our briefing, those crew whose height were a bit 'doubtful', they did ask them specifically to come back another day again to the office to do the 'reach test' again..
So they still do their QC checks I guess..?

Hi All
One of my friends who is 162.5cm who asked to come back beginning of Oct for "reach test". If you look under Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd webpage, desirable height is between 163cm-183cm.

Hope my little info helps too

Strong Eagle : of course height would be a play a part in safety measures but i do see CC that is shorter then me still doing a good job in Jetstar. And i am only 159cm.
i dont believe that airlines would hire all tall crews with terrible attitude. even if a personality shines out despite the height, there is a chance.
if the need arises, the crew can always as for help with his/her colleagues who are taller.

As the reply said, you need a local sponsor. Without a local sponsor you are stuck outside of Singapore.
