Now JQ base is passed onto the management of valuair.Don't know how that will work out for the bond and stuff in the future but from now i know yes, bond upfront. period.

He is not joking with you. The pay is below average. Can you really deal with a lousy pay? Ask yourself. Also remember you are flying for a budget airline, the company is going all the way they can to save, you will find out a lot of that when you are with the company.

You wanna work for a airline and be proud of it. But not to hide your face about it. It can be demoralizing.

Interview they will not disclose about the pay until you reach towards the ending of the interview. If you are gonna ask about the pay, they will not tell you cos it's bad basically.

Sorry to burst your bubble. You see a lot of kinds of ppl at Jetstar. Image is not so important like SQ. As long as you can pay the bond upfront, they will take you regardless you are old or average.

You will know what I mean if you decide to take it up.
no name, you were with Jetstar previously? or you went to the last rounds of interview but decided not to take it up? can share more? :)

What would you like to know more about?

Qistianna wrote:Hi Everyone! The thing is I went for JQ interviews last 23rd March. Got thru till 2nd round and swimming round. Being told to go home and wait for their call which seems like forever. So, now 4 months later they called me just now and told me i got accepted for JQ and my training starts in 4th October in Ground School. Im like HUH??! I thought I didnt get in after that fateful day of swimming round and interview. Hmm. Anybody from that batch got A Call too??
Well must be this recruitment is bad and therefore they backtrack their previous applicants. Also probably a lot of ppl cannot afford the bond in a short notice as well. 1850 is not small sum esp when they want in cash.

They are pretty short notice bunch of ppl in my opinion. You will get to experience more of 'HUH, WTF, WAH LIAO' and etc and all the short notices when you are in.

But not trying to discouraging you or anything like that, if you can 'afford' 1850, you can get the job regardless if you are old, young, short or tall.

Congrats though. If you want to knwo more about the job with the company, both good and the bad, PM and i will do my best to be as honest as I can.

Hi Floatingdog, thanks for sharing. I was in sunday's batch and cleared everything on that day itself. They told us they will come back to us within a week for those who are selected. Let us know if you received any call or email from them. Between, do you mind to share how many hopefuls made it to swimming test yesterday? Sunday was about 35 of us included 11 guys. Thanks in advance! :)

We got called up after 4 months cause the March batch was split into 2 groups. For those who made it thru all the rounds, First batch to start Ground School on 17th May. 2nd Batch which is mine(after 4 mths) will start Ground School on 4th October. (explaination from them as to WHY)

That was what they said during briefing earlier on in the mrng just now. In light of the above, NO BOND PAYMENT of $1850 is needed anymore. They stopped the bond thingy already. Contract though, is 2 years. If you leave within the First year, you pay $1850. If you leave within Second year, you pay $1000. (that is the new rule)

For further clarification, the briefing that was held today was ONLY for those who made it from previous March batch. So, for those who went for the recent interview with JQ, fret not, you will definitely be kept in the loop if you successfully made it through all rounds. You will either receive a call or an email from them. So do check your mails regularly.

Once your in, the decision is all yours. Different people have different perceptions in the Low Cost Carrier business. If you think you wanna do it sincerely for passion sake, go for it. JQ is more to layover flights so you will earn from there, I believe. Yes, point of views from diff pple is good but at the end of the day, you still follow what you wanna do, although its good or bad.

I hope this helps you guys.

:)

Hello hello. I'm still waiting for my call. Heehee. Yup we no longer need to pay the $1850 bond upfront. Only pay if we leave within 2 years.

Thanks no name, for willing to share with us. But yea I think as long as we're (kinda) aware of what we're getting ourselves into then that's fine.

Hahahah I keep looking at my phone.

Hmmm in the morning there were 6 tables so I'm guessing 60 people? Then we were to be there by 9 right? Then there were a few people who were late, like one even came at 10! I'm not quite sure if they made it through.

Anyway by afternoon, maybe left about half? so many 30 plus? but then when came to swimming, really got a few girls who totally couldnt swim, so not sure what will happen to them. Will they not get called just coz they cannot swim?

What about your batch? How many made it to the afternoon?
