i like your enthusiasm for business and it is never too early to start one. I do have the same dream as yours but reality is kinda hitting hard on the businesses I am attempting at the moment.. so you say you want to build a business around making food? Have you tried cooking and sample it around to test the market? You can start from there. Also look to the future as how you are going to expand this business. Charity is always a good thing to do. But there is also a right way to do it. Earning $1k and donating it to charity can help, but only once. But if you earn alot more money, invest it or place it into a savings account and donate the interest earned every month, now that will help forever.

Not everyone can become a SUCCESSFUL businessman.. although most billionaires are businessman, there are also businessman who are bankrupt. I cannot stop emphasizing that education is always important. There is a reason why companies still hire people with degrees, there is value from eduation. I have had people mention that Bill Gates had no education and is now a billionaire, hence education is useless.. And my word to those people is.. you are NOT Bill Gates! Bill Gates makes the best of what he has and not find excuses to make up what he doesnt. If you can, get an education, be it a back up plan, or a path to show comittment to a goal, no matter what, there will be lessons learned that will definitely help you even in starting your business.

Part of me wonders (however briefly) who really needs that much width in the seat. It’s nice, sure, but are we all getting that fat and wide that we need 30 inch-wide seat? (Oh, wait, we ARE getting that wide.) The new first class is even wider: 35 inches wide. Practically a meter wide!.

I would have to agree with education being top priority now.. Of course if you're into business, I've got some recommendations.. But I would suggest you to finish up your Os, get into a Polytechnic and then we talk about business.. All the best for your Os!
You can contact me once you're done with your polytechnic stuff..=)

should your business fail, what should you fall back on? unless you can inherit a big sum and unlimited amount of money, i suggest you continue with your studies.

Agree with you...But there are many people who have nothing left and devoted to business totally..They failed once or twice but they found a way out nevertheless.. I always believe that one can take calculated risks.. Of course, I still agree that education is still top most prority..

Doing business is not the only way to get rich :D

Modern world talks about investing and opportunity cost.

If You understand what I'm talking about, I believe that You'll make it :D

btw, if You are thinking of doing food business, You do not need to register with ACRA. You just need to register with MOH and if You are less than 21, guardian required :D

same sentiment here!

so are you starting your business in Singapore?

Singapore has a small market though, so you must do a product that has worldwide customers

Yup.. agree with the worldwide market too.. However, Singapore is a global hub.. So you're lucky that you are actually starting up a business in Singapore first..

Most companies that have a global market will be able to make profits or diversify their losses better..
