We have actually just signed a 2 year lease for an apartment on the Costa. Can't believe we've moved from the UK to Singapore and we're going to be living in a place called Costa Del Sol. You may only find this funny if you're a brit.

I quite liked it - felt it had a good, safe and friendly feel to it. I'ts also close to the beach which is great for walking and cycling etc - really feel like you are getting away from it all on the weekends.

We moved-in last November. It's been great! Chose it mainly for my kids as there are 5 pools - deep one for diving, olympic length, medium depth, calf deep for kids with slide and one other medium depth - a couple of playgrounds with swings etc. There's also 3 tennis courts, a putting green, 6 BBQ areas, et al.

I visited quite a few places before deciding on Costa. It appears more like a resort. Almost all the units I believe have a view towards the south of the ocean except for units below the 5th floor as their view is blocked by the trees in East Coast Park. It's not as hot as other places because there's no other buildings blocking it. Even if you're in the northern building towards east, the layout of the buildings captures the breezes and funnels it between the buildings.

There's a restaurant near the clubhouse, a small grocery, a salon, manicure/massage place, drycleaning service, and dvd rental place. There's a semi-private shuttle (SG$5) that picks up folks every 10 minutes starting @ ~7am to bring you to the CBD area and has return trips in the afternoon. The public bus stop is about 2 blocks away. There's another shuttle that brings folks to the Bedok MRT, as well as Parkway Parade shopping mall.

There's an underground passage way from the unit to the east coast park, where you can jog, ski, rent windsurfing eqpt, restaurants, hawker stall, rent rollerblades and bikes, etc. Definitely accessible.

In terms of tenants, it's more of a family environment. There appears to be more kids compared to the other facilities I've visited. Overall it's been a good experience. Except for the neighbor cooking dried fish 3 or 4 nights a week (haven't found out who it is yet) and having the smell come into my unit forcing me to close my windows, it's been good! :x

I lived in Bayshore Park, the oldes condo there for two years and loved it. Although it is much older than Costa del Sol (I personally still can't get past that name...), it has more land area for about teh same amount of units. And the apartments have balconies which is nice. Bayshore Park has 2 swimming pools, 7 tennis courts, a gym, squash courts, mini-supermarket, 2 restaurants, a launderette and a hairdresser. If you can get a recently renovated apartment there I would recommend it over and above Costa.

Travel to the city should be the same. The properties are only a few hundred feet apart from each other.

I'll let others comment about the rents, but if you look at the list of condos on this site, you should also find listings and approximate rental/leasing costs.

Badminton Courts

Post by ericdls » Mon, 15 Sep 2008 11:39 am

I am considering to move to Costa Del Sol, does anyone know if there are badminton court facilities? I've seen some places - Changi Gree/Changi Court - I have some friends there and they say that they have badminton courts there but when I looked at their website, it wasn't mentioned - only tennis court. So, I would like to know from those who are living in Costa Del Sol if there are badminton court facilities.

I appreciate your feedback!

Post by ericdls » Tue, 16 Sep 2008 8:41 am

Thanks! What about the other neighbor condos? Do they have badminton courts inside?

Or any other badminton courts near to Bayshore area? Many thanks!

condo

Post by megsie27 » Tue, 16 Sep 2008 1:09 pm

we are also looking at either the Costa Del Sol or The Bayshore. I understand that the Bayshore has a pool/billard table. (my husband is a professional pool player) Does the Costa Del Sol as well? Or does anyone know of any other condo's on the east coast that does?
Thanks
