Need urgent help - Employment Lawyer

My boyfriend has some problem to terminate his employment contract with his current employer. They threaten him to pay up to his 6 months salary as compensation to the company if he quit. I have contacted MOM but they said they can’t help and instead, suggest us to check with a lawyer.

Since we only arrive Singapore for 5 months so we don’t have a good contact network here yet, anyone can help to advice a good employment lawyer to us?

What are the terms on the employment contract? Is there a clause that states that early termination of the employment contract will require him to compensate the company? There is usually a notice period, he need to serve. Do your bf wants to leave the company immediately, or he is prepared to serve the notice period.

Maybe looking at the contract first, and reviewing the terms, might be able to give you faster and "cheaper" answers instead of running to an employment lawyer.
