Used furniture is used furniture. Unless it an antique is doesn't have much resale value. That's why most here just pull it out into the void deck and let the karun guni man take it.

At least with 20% you don't have to pay the disposal people to take it away. So you actually are saving money....

tell me about it. i sold a lot of baby items and each person asked for either a bundle deal or money off. also saw the same thing i sold for $50 - reposted for sale at $100 with the same picture taken in my apt!

really shocked! i was like "at least change the picture" :o

have you tried the supermarket boards? like sms said - i think people are looking for a real deal w furniture... they probably figure if you're selling it you have to get rid of it to move and will negotiate.

In general Singaporeans prefer new things. We don't have the thriving second-hand markets that you get in other countries. The only decent markets for used items here are golf clubs and branded handbags. Certainly not clothes, gadgets or furniture. You're quite lucky to even get an offer.

I always see adds in the American and British Clubs for used furniture, and sometimes on the corkboards at the supermarkets. Much of the stuff is good quality at good prices, plus inespesive IKEA-ish things that are useful at any price.

I know a a few gadget heads who regularly turn over their mobile phones and PDAs, there's a good secondary market here for that.

The best thing is build a simple webpage with pics.

This is done in the other forums.
