Gas for USA grill

Post by eramie » Tue, 26 Aug 2008 2:39 pm

Does anyone know where I can get a gas tank to use with a USA BBQ grill? I have been told that the connections here in Singapore are different than the USA and the regular tanks will not fit. I was also told before hand that there is a company in Singapore that has tanks with connections that will fit, but did not get the name, and have been unable to find one yet. My grill arrives in 2 weeks and I would like to be ready to go when it gets here. Any info would be great.

Just ring and ask the gas supplier if they can supply a new connection for your rig. Explain that you need a new connection etc and if they don't understand or can't do it then ring the other guys. You should be able to get your gas bottle and connector done at the same time. They do it all the time you shouldn't have much trouble at all.

If you want to know who to contact then just google bottled gas and singapore for your local supplier.

My first grill that I brought from the US, I let them cut the hose and put on a singapore connector and regulator - bad move - the regulator, they could not get right, either too much gas or too little always a problem - I bought a new grill in the US and brought it back with me as check in luggage, (God bless SQ) and kept the US fittings: I get my gas from Chuan Hon Gas Supply they supply US gas bottles - you will have to pay a deposit for and they refill them - not everyone can do this as they need the appropriate equipment as well - anyway here is there phone number:
