Need Help!! : Employment / S Pass Approvement!!

Post by aiksucok » Tue, 19 Aug 2008 4:43 pm

Hi guys, need a lot advice from you..

I'm Indonesian, and graduated from a University in Indonesia, take Information Technology as a subject.
I have working experience, 2 years as Assistant Lecturer and at least six month as Software Engineer.
In May, I've came to Singapore for a job interview.
A month after (June), they offer me a position as Software Engineer with 2.500SGD/month salary, and I approved it.
They submit my Employment Pass application.
But unfortunately, MOM rejected my application.
After that, in July, we decide to appeal against MOM decision.
But it's rejected.
They appeal against it again, but we got another rejection.
The company said that they would not be able to extend the employment to me due to multiple rejections by MOM with regards to the Work Pass application in order to work in Singapore legally.

What i want to ask is, can I appeal against MOM decision again after my second appeal rejected?
Is there another way so I can get Employment Pass to working in Singapore legally?
I'm so curious about it. Because, some of my friend who is a fresh graduate, get the Employment Pass easily, after they got a sponsor to apply.
Can you give me an advice guys?
Should I'm going to Singapore and ask to the MOM officer why my application got rejected?
Is there any chance that I still get that job?
Because I want that job so much.
Thank you guys.

I am surprise at the number of rejections you are facing on your appeals. Have you done anything wrong (from a legal point of view) that could jeopardise your S-pass application? The only other issue I would think that you are getting all these rejections is that you may not have fulfilled the eligibility criteria. At the same time if you read thru some of the threads in this forum you will have noticed several other individuals who ended up like you in this situation have to ultimately sit for a test - have you been asked to sit for a test?
Cool as cool can be

It could be something as simple as Software Engineers without any relevant experience are a dime a dozen here from Singaporeans and PR's. His rejection isn't necessarily because of himself or his qualifications (although it could be - I'm not discounting that).

The only thing at this point is that he try through another employer if he can find another that is interested in him. If he does, and is again rejected on a fresh application from a different employer, then it's possible he is being rejected by his qualifications. Normally the rejections are due to the employer not being able to justify why they need a foreigner if sufficient locals/PR's are available or they do not have any quota although you didn't indicate what Pass you were applying for.
