True Yoga membership refund

Post by kirbie_06 » Mon, 18 Aug 2008 11:22 pm

Hi ppl,

I have signed up at True Yoga in Mar08 for a 3 year membership, paying $126 per month, amounting to 4.5k. I was promised all clubs access and all facilities usage.

However their best centre, UOB centre, closed down in May08 without notifying me. Apparently they already know about the closure before they signed me up. Isn't that unethcial?? Therefore I want a termination and refund of my membership. Of coz, the staff were rude/refused my request.

I have went one step further and went to a law firm last friday.

I am glad I went, as the lawyer is very helpful and tried to understand my case the best he could.

My main case is that UOB center closed down and my membership is for all clubs. The lawyer briefly looked thru and without further proof researched, he gave me a 60% of winning chance. Well of course he wun be fighting for us for free. He advise that he can issue a letter of demand which costs $1500 to $2000. This will demand TY to refund the people stated in the letter.

He will fight the case based on misrepresentation. As in TY already
knows the gym at UOB is about to be closed but they still sell the package
to us. Would anyone like to bear the costs with me? Personally i feel this is a small cost if I can get back the refund. However, of course there is a risk of losing the case all tog..

I am trying to find more ppl so each of us divides to about $500 each person.
Don't just sit back and let True Yoga eat our hard earned money! come on! step out! We can do this if we join forces! We can't let them bully us!

If u are keen, email me @ [email protected] / PM me..

I feel you jumped the gun and should stomach the costs yourself. Had you just gone down and filed a claim at the Small Claims Tribunal it would have only cost you $10 bucks.

I heard of Small Claims Tribunal but do not know how it works, if you know about the procedure, is it very kind of you to post it out. Thanks! :)

True Yoga has really done it! Seriously, I do not know what the management people are trying to prove.. They offer such good facilities but their service attitude is totally bad!

I heard so much of True Spa's (subsidiary of True Yoga) hard selling sales personnels and their irksome service attitude with frequent face change to many customers..

Why are they still in business?? Are they starting this business to do one time sales only?? Luckily I'm did not sign up any package or anything with them...
