Jamaica- Mi Crazy!!

Post by Global Citizen » Sat, 16 Aug 2008 10:41 pm

Jamaica did it! Usain Bolt has just won a gold medal for Jams with a record breaking 9.69 in the 100m sprint. Trinidad placed second and the US third.

I'm thrilled and so very excited and happy, I'm singing. :D

Goodness me GC, now would that be because you are in Jamaica and happy for them, despite not being a Jamaican yourself? Sorry, couldn't help myself. :D

PS...it was a brilliant race.

Heh, heh, good one, WIMH. :)

BC, you know it's funny how when you live somewhere long enough, you start rooting for them and nationality becomes secondary. I was kind of surprised myself at how how proud I feel about the win. This from someone who's fairly critical of the politics and the rampant corruption in Jams.

Any of her achievements via her people make so much more of an impact and are great morale boosters for the populace when you take into account that the average Jamaican has a fairly hard life.

Usually women would complain about a guy being finished in under ten seconds . . . our bunch is clearly not spoiled.

Sadly you and I seem to originate from the same school of humour!

(But it was funny, if I do say so myself!)
