Dempsey Road

Hii all ,are there lots of furniture or antique shops in Dempsey Road ?
Also,any other place where I can buy some good rugs..those wooly type... dunno how to describe them. :(

Not sure about antiques but there are furniture shops there. Picked up some teak items a year back. Haven't been there since so don't know how it's changed.

Hi chix - indeed there are a number of furniture stores there. It's a good mix of Asian, western contemporary, and some antiques. You can easily spend a day up there and have lunch at one of the many deli's/restaurants.

One word of advice, be careful to thoroughly check the veracity of "antiques" - I had one guy blatently lie to me about the history of a piece, which I then found in another store!

Generally though there's a good selection if you have the time to browse!

After a very extensive search for wicker-type sofas and dining chairs we found good quality for the best prices at Dempsey Rd. Way out the back there at Wicker Barn. So depending on what you're after....

On your knees' and bottom :oops: just make sure the rug is 100% wool, much more friendly on the skin, than synthetic fibre. Static electricity is also shocking! :lol:
