Jetlag

Post by Kimi » Thu, 14 Aug 2008 2:14 am

It's been 2 days that I can't sleep even after midnight after arriving from Europe *sigh*.
Usually I'm not doing that bad with jetlag. How to overcome this?
Cause I have this breakfast ritual with a friend that I do everyday so do want to wake up on time and fresh too for this.

I have heard that for ever hour in time difference you need about 3 days to recover. I arrived Friday from the USA and I'm still feeling the effects. Take a mild sleeping pill. I slept 14 hours on Saturday night. Helped, but still falling asleep in the chair watching TV at 1930-2000.

Vitamin B also deters mosquitoes apparently because it cause you to emit and odour they find unpleasant. Don't know how scientific that is but could definitely be added bonus!
I arrived from Ireland last monday week - I am afraid it took me a good 10 days to sort out my body clock! :(

Have u try melatonin?

Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone secreted by the pineal gland. Melatonin has been suggested for insomnia¸ jet lag¸ weak immune system¸ high cholesterol¸ anti-aging properties and cardiovascular health.
And you can try running or exercising to recover from the jet lag.

Try not to take medicine or drugs too often as body system will get use to it and might get side effect.
