Deep Sea Fishing in Malaysia - Anyone recommend a company?

Post by Pioneer » Wed, 13 Aug 2008 10:25 am

Me and a friend of mine want to give deep sea fishing a go next weekend if possible but I am having trouble finding a company that offers a service (i.e. all gear included, meals and 2 full days).
Google has not turned up much so was wondering if anyone has had any experience of this.

Malaysia is not necessarily a must, but somewhere that is not too far or expensive to travel from Singapore to.

Cheers

Too late I know, but you might wanna check out www.FishingKaki.com forum. There are a few charter boats around with all the gear. A cheap alternative is to use handlines - get them from Carrefour for a few dollars. Buy some hooks and weights and you are ready to go. You will normally catch more on a handline than rod & reel, just doesn't feel the same!

The fishing around Singapore is quite limited, but trips out to the South China Sea, Horsburg and Bintan are more productive if the current is good a few days around a New Moon or 4-5 days after a Full Moon.

Cheers,

Ian

I went with Mike Tan to Kuala Rompin and had a great time.. I think his website is bluesailsrompin or something like that. P.M. me if you're serious and I'll look it up. Or you can google it

Fishing is tough till March, isn't it? I'd be up for a trip if there's a slot open in a small group. I don't have any equipment here though.

Give it another month. Just did a trip on the weekend to check out the sail situation - there are a few around but very juvenile at the moment. Some good Kobia and a couple of small dorado did my belly good though! Seas are still just a little confused out there. Another month and should be fish on!
If you want to play with the Big Dogs you can't pee like a Puppy!
