Working on Jurong Island?

Post by Shar232 » Tue, 12 Aug 2008 10:32 am

I currently have a job offer to work on Jurong Island and would like some advice: what is it like to commute there each day? I live in the River Valley area, and I have heard that the check point begins to back up around 7:30-8:30 am. How long does it generally take to cross onto JI? I figure I am looking at a 1.5hr commute each morning... is this accurate?

Also, I have access to a car- would it be much shorter to drive and park on JI rather than take a bus from Jurong East MRT? Are there restrictions on parking on JI?

Any input would help me on my decision!

Can't help there but wish I could find something on the Island! It would be about a 2 hour commute for me but the salary differential working out there would make it worth it for a couple of years.

erm... if you are going jurong island by bus, you shouldnt be taking bus from jurong east bus interchange, the correct one should be Boonlay bus interchange. typical one way trip takes about 15mins. very fast.
