looking for a 6-month foster home for a Chihuahua

Post by sasa810 » Sun, 10 Aug 2008 8:43 am

Hello!

I am going on a 6 month secondment and I am looking for a family to foster my Chihuahua dog for 6 months starting from this September. He's paper trained, sterilized, and obedience trained. He's sweet and will make a good companion. A family with experience of dogs is preferred. Love for dogs is a must! and I will require you to return him after 6 months. Please PM me for details.

What about somebody who has no experience but who loves animals and is willing to learn?

sasa810,

What you are asking is a bit rough. If a person is an animal lover, particularly a dog lover, and they take in your dog for 6 months, that person is going to become very attached to the dog. As you know, a dog is like a family member and to have a family member taken away hurts. I know that you are looking for a good environment for your pet for the duration you are away, but I know I'd be hesitant to take in a animal for that length of time and then have to give it up.

Good luck on finding somebody though.

Hi Sms, I see your point. But I have no other choice. I can't take my dog with me and I don't want to give him up (e.g., surrender him to SPCA). I don't know enough people here to find someone suitable to take care of my dog. So I thought I'd give it a try here - if any expat who's here for less than 1 year, who'd like a dog companion but cannot have one because of his/her short term plan, he/she might like the idea...
