I have been reading here that it is difficult and expensive to buy a king sized bed in Singapore? Can anybody inform me on that subject and what the price range might be for an american brand.

This site lists prices on their website.

The issue with Singapore and King sized beds is that most lifts in buildings cannot fit a King matteress. One solution is to use 2 X single matteress as a compromise.

Big selection at harvey normans in Milenium walk ( just behind the ritz carlton)
They kept trying to push all the European and American makes but just test all the beds out. The best one for us was the local made dunlop sprung mattress, cost about 800 dollars but we wanted a super king a 30% increase in cost, they can make any size mattress or bed.

Bought mine from the 4 Seasons hotel...over-sized King. Pricey and difficult to get sheets, blankets from, but have bought mine from various 4 seasons around the world. So worth the $$$ as it is very comfortable and sturdy. Any of the main chain hotels will sell you a bed (new of course).

Which is better - buying for dividend payout or buying for gain

Since share prices usually falls after dividend ex-date, isn't it better to buy after the ex-date (rather than buying for the dividends)?
