HK! love the dim sum there.

oh, but that's besides the point.

hmmm. thanks for all the insightful comments. I did get some really interesting feedback from all of you but somehow I didn't get what I was looking for. I am not sure if it's the way I phrased my question or that all of us see things differently.

Let me try to clarify myself one last time, if I still don't get what I want, guess I will have to brush up my english before coming in here again :)

What I really wanted to know is... if someone recommends you a place to visit (eg. for cheap dimsum, for good brazilian waxing service, nice chillout places etc.) would you try them out? would you trust their recommendations?

Is this clearer?

chocolate - thanks maybe I read it slightly the wrong way also. My wife and I have sought and been given recommendations on everything from restaurants, hairdressers, places to purchase (what were for us) difficult items to find, and aside from the restaurants, we have followed almost every one. Some have been good, others not so good, or perhaps not exactly what we were after. However, as a "general statement", we've found the advice here to be very good.

I hope that's answering your question?

HTH, P

[edit: clarity re: restaurants: The only reason we haven't tried all the restaurant recommendations is simply a matter of time vs. our travel commitments. That is, there is only so many available days where we're both in country]
