Hi,
I'm from Ireland and I've been offered a job in Singapore. The company are going to look after all my visa requirements. I want to bring my girlfriend over with me. I've read a couple of posts on the subject so I know one option is to marry so that she can get a LTSVP.
She'd be happy enough with low wages, staying there is the priority, I'll be earning the money really.
If anyone can supply me with answers to the questions below I'd really appreciate it.
What is the longest she can stay on a social visit pass?
Can she leave after that period and enter on a second SVP?
If she enters on a SVP can she look for work on her own merits?
Her qualificartions are in graphic design and she currently works in office admin. I've had a look on some websites and there seems to be a lot of employers looking for admin staff. Would she be free to apply for these jobs once she is in SG?
Thanks for any advice

She'll get a 30 day stamp SVP on entering Singapore

She can, if she flies in and out she'll most probably get another 30 days. If she goes by land or sea she could be unlucky and only get 7/14 days when coming back into Singapore.
If she enters on a SVP can she look for work on her own merits?
She can look for work but must not start any type of paid work until the appropiate visa has been approved

She would be free to apply for these positions but you might want to check that the positions aren't open only for Singaporeans/PR.
The biggest problem she'll have is that she'll be competing with locals for these positions and even if she got offered the a position the company would still have justify to the MOM that no local could do the job when applying for a visa. That will be the tough part to be honest
Just marry the young lady and all your problems would be solved

Saint, I had hoped more from you
At least tell him to propose, she does him the honour of saying " If I must, Go on then"
And most importantly when they get to SG, invite us all to the pub to celebrate giving them this advise......

If you are in a long-term relationship. look into getting a Long Term Social Visit Pass for your girlfriend, which will let her live here with you without worrying about visa runs and extensions. She can't work with an LTSVP but can look for a job if she wants, so she can get her own EP. Have a search on this website and the ICA website as well for more info. Then you won't need to get married or buy these guys beer!

Hey, most of the information here has been from me over the years! I deserve a pint for sure! (And I'm finished my diet as well!)
Saint deserves one for continuously digging up me old threads to link to!

At what age can I receive the puppy?
Also, will it go into quarantine upon arrival?

The quarantine period is usually 10 days or 30 days, depending on the category of your dog.
Not too sure if it's advisable for small puppy to travel,...
