I need an Orthodontist

Post by Savage » Mon, 20 Sep 2004 12:23 pm

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a reputed Orthodontist for adults in Singapore. Also, whats the rough price range for the whole treatment and those fancy clear braces?

The only one I know is at Raffles Hospital at Bugis...the estimate they gave me over the phone was upto S$5000 for the treatment which seems kinda high (I was expecting something in the S$3000-4000 range), but I guess I will get a more detailed estimate when I have my consultation with them in a couple of weeks.

Dr. Lien at the Mandarin Hotel on Orchard is very recommendable. Prices for what you want, you will have to find out, but as a doctor in his trade, I can recommend.

Porcelain Veneers or Braces?

I have some question to ask. For unsightly spaces between teeth, it is recommended for Porcelain Veneers or braces? :)

Hi..im 26 and i jus had my braces removed early this year...i would recommend my orthodontist Dr Ivan Lim fr SGH dental centre..i didnt noe he was a well known specialist till i was reading a dental magazine at my neighbourhood's dental clinc n realised, hey!! tats my dentist..at that time i was still contemplating whther or not to proceed...ok the reason y im recommendin him is cus he noes wat hes doing...u see, i wore braces when i was younger at 12...but then i stopped wearing my retainers n my wisdom teeth grew out, my teeth started to warp again..quite badly actually..i was desperate so i consultated a private specialist..he did not dare do braces for me because fr my previous braces treatment, i had 4 mollars taken out n its quite risky to take out too many mollars so he asked me to refer to SGH agn where i previously was fr..so wen dr ivan lim looked at teeth, n my bg, he straight away knew what to do...he used my old wisdom teeth as a mollar replacement and took out 2 of my upper healthy mollars which at 1st i thot he was crazy, and even the dentist pulling out my teeth didnt undnerstd..but within 3 mths after putitng on the braces, my teeth adjusted n my wisdom teeth move frontwards acting like a mollar...this is complicating, but u see, he noes what he was doing n he had no doubts..another clever thg he did was instead of removing another 2 of my lower mollars, he cut off edges of my teeth so that he cud create gaps for my teeth to move...hes good..i know cus ive worn braces like 2 times in my life..and another thg, u need to have 4 mollars taken out (2 on top n 2 below in order for ur teeth 2 have space to adjust)...i didnt feel a thg wen i got my teeth extracted n i was so bloody scared.. plus d dentist who pulled out my teeth was cute hahaha

GOOD FEMALE DENTIST

Post by smallfish » Wed, 26 Oct 2005 1:52 am

I recently went to Dr Lim Wee Sang from Pinnacle Dentist Group at Ocean Building, Collyer Quay.

She is very gentle and friendly. Maybe can try calling her clinic at 6 532 0282.

I'm calling those dentists to get a quotation. Any newer recommendations? ;-)
