Singapore Expats

how much do ppl need to earn to get a condo of 400-600k ?

Discuss about where to live, renting a property, tenancy issues, property trend and property investment in Singapore.

I'd like to know where you can buy a condo for 400 to 600K? :) I would have thought in 2008, 750k would be around the minimum.

Who else would write like this but a 14 year old.

erms hello ppl.
i am from singapore
and i would like to find out
how much is needed for my parents to
earn in a month in order to buy a condo worth about
400k - 600k ,
reply mi if you know.
because i really wish to move to a condo,
instead of tis boring 5 room hdb flat
thanks . xD

In fact I would say 8 year old, that presses the enter button before finishing the sentence.

I think you all ought to lay off and give her the benefit of the doubt.

Truth be told I've been wondering about this myself i.e. how much one would need monthly in order to buy a condo in Singapore. I own a flat in Paris but I have never bought one in Singapore. Have peanuts in my CPF and my parents are using up all my POSB savings.

My brother who's a sensible 1st class honours grad was telling me a few weeks ago that one can still buy a condo e.g. in Sengkang for 500K. We haven't had the time to discuss this further and I never got round to finding out how much one would need monthly for that, but I understood that one normally only needs to pay 20% of the price as downpayment to start. Then if one manages to rent it out (how much would a say 3-room condo in the heartlands cost in monthly rental?), it should service part of the loan?

Like I've said, I would like to return to Singapore when I retire, thought I should start making preparations now. Another question I have is - would local banks lend money to buyers who live and work overseas?

Thanks.
Je pense donc je suis. Le reste du temps, je ne suis qu'une fleur.

The latest report coming out, is that condo price is not moving, but HDB resale flats are, they went up 4.7% last month.

I think it may be a wise long term investment if rented out, although i would hate to give up space for a condo myself. Loans for 500k maybe 3000 a month in repayment. Rental may bring in 2500 to 3000 depending on many factors. HDB rental appears to be moving upwards, the last i heard from an agent friend, is that a room is bring 750 in the heartlands today. and a 2 bedroom apartment 1800 plus.
