Mobile Phone Jammer

Post by eyeFone » Fri, 25 Jul 2008 11:42 am

Just sorting through my stuff to before I head to Singapore, what to buy what to sell what to throw etc..

I have a portable mobile phone jammer, which has been great in Shanghai due to the lack of mobile phone etiquette here. Even though it is tempting to use in public areas (metro, restaurants, cinema etc) that would be way too selfish so it's use has mainly been for in office meetings, presentations etc.

Someone told me this device might be illegal in other countries, might this be true for Singapore? I couldn't find anything on google....

mobile fone signal jammer are illegal in most country. you could be messing up other frequency as well within the range. and that's why you dont get them at Kmart or 7-Eleven stores.

singapore is very strict on their airwaves. for years, you cant even buy a walkie talkie without getting an approval and license. i'm sorry to say but i think it is a very selfish act for you to use it.

Unless you own a cinema, and plan to turn it on during the movies, In which case go for it! Otherwise I agree it would be very selfish to use outside a 'meeting' environment.

er, I did mention that it would be tempting yet selfish to use it in such public places.

I got it because I was fed up with phones going off during my company's business meetings and presentations even though we requested no interruptions at the beginning.

Yes, cinema owners should get these! I guess it's a problem in Singapore too!
