Dependent pass looking for a job

Post by ropa15 » Wed, 23 Jul 2008 8:57 pm

I'm just wondering if someone could give me an idea why most of employers are hesitant to hire Dependent pass holder like me.All they need is to fill up the Letter of Consent from MOM which is authorizing us to work here and no more hassle of applying for an Employment pass.

I'm seriously looking for a job, just really need to help my husband to provide for our family.

I have a background in HR/Admin Clerical position, I also used to work as an Inbound Call Center Agent back in the Philippines catering Canadian Customers since our account is an internet service provider from Canada.

Have any idea for a prospective employer? Any help will be truly appreciated. :)

Contact the Telemarketing companies working for the Banks. They have lots of foreigners working for them. Maybe you can get a foot in the door that way.

Check out CRCE at American Association (http://www.aasingapore.com).

Yes, I am affiliated, I am a board member... and it has been a goal of AAS to promote job opportunities for trailing spouses.

Already visited this, and it's nice to see that their job listings are more fair for a DP holder like me,+ the requirements for Admin and Customer Service positions are more suitable to my qualifications.
Correct me if I'm wrong Mr. Moderator, do I need to be a member first before I can access the info for this job listings? If that so, I need to pay for a membership, would there be an assurance that I can land on a job.Can you give me a percentage please?

Don't you think that is a bit of an unfair question? How may who join are looking for jobs? For a particular job. It would obviously depend on one's qualifications wouldn't it.

You buys your ticket and you takes your chances. It's better chances than the lotto. At least here if you have the experience and qualifications you stand a better chance of winning. Or you can continue to just shop the major job boards and fight through the Singaporean or PR only job listings........

Yes, you need to be a member and subscribe to CRCE in order to view all the job details. However I can give you no assurance that you will land a job. Perhaps the job you want is not on the board. Perhaps your skill sets do not match. Perhaps you have an unemployable personality. There are too many variables for any estimate or guarantee to be made.

Cheers.

Said this on a previous post and I am genuinely not an agent but I do know of a vacancy which urgently needs filling. I haven't got enough posts to pm you yet and I don't want to put my email up here!
