I was there as well for my 1st treatment yesterday. Indeed the lady was really good, she is very clear in her explanation about the IPL treatment. She is patient and helps me to clear whatever questions I have. Like you mentioned, she is very careful and caring during the treatment process. She will check with me whether I can take the shot, is it too painful? I don't really find it very painful though it is my 1st time doing IPL.

I like the ambience as well, very cosy & relaxing. I am happy with my 1st treatment as my underarm looks fairer. I am looking forward to a completely fair underarm as the treatment goes by and on the overall, I find her service excellent and I like it. :D

hi Chelynn,

Can u share that doctor/therapist's contact info with me? eg. tel no. , location etc

hope to hear from u soon..

For those who intend to start your treatment at allure 20, that my little advise stop apply any cream or lotion for one week, do not wax/pluck your hair at least 2 to 3 weeks but shave it short the day before treatment.
The reason is they wont allow you to do the treatment cause some cream or lotion may cause reaction to ipl and ipl need hair to transmit light to hair follicle, unless your hair growth is super fast if not you will like me wait for 2 weeks then can go for my 1st treatment.
hi Mng 222,

May I know which part did u had ipl done?, how much is it? and who was the therapist who did it for u?

oops, pardon my nos. of doubt

hope to hear from u soon..

good day :)

I totally agreed with you and imo, I think we should wait for our hair to grow out then go back for 2nd treatment. Btw, did u check if there is an expiry to the package? Do keep me posted when you are ready to go for your 2nd treatment.

Cheers,
:D
Hi chelynn

I've called them and ask when should I go back for my 2nd treatment, the lady told me if my concern is more on my dark patch then is ok for me to go back like 3 weeks or 1 month apart even my hair growth is very fine and really snail pace.

I have a very dark patch to start with, though now already lightened more then 60% but still bother me, so I think I'll go for my 2nd treatment within this week, hope after my 2nd treatment I can get rid of my dark patch. :)

Btw, the package do not have expiry date, so we can actually drag our 5 sessions as long as possible, but we are not advise to shave in between the treatment as shaving may irritate our skin and cause more hair growth. The lady told me the best is trim our hair short in stead of shave it.

Hi Miki93,
Can you pls provide me the contact details of the clinic where you had your IPL treatment? my email address is yilicia@hotmail.com

Thanks a million

I tried bikiniline at True Shape (located at Adelphi) months back, and it has been effective till now on me..no more hair growth!!! neat and nice! Its package is pretty cheap too.

You can check out its website for more info:

Having had the IPL experience in my underarms, I can advise this, GO TO A DR's OFFICE and not a salon !! I signed up with a salon on Amoy St and the results are not what I expected after 5 sessions $1000 later. I still have finer underarm hair, it is not gone and will need more IPL.

On the other hand, for my bikini line I went to a dr at Raffles Link, paid the same money and the hair after 3 sessions is nearly gone. Same treatment, different quality of IPL machine ...

Spa Ziwi at Jurong East is quite good.

80% of my leg hair gone after 5 sessions of IPL, and my beautician Sally is not pushy..

I've only paid $58 for ipl face trial and $350 for 5 sessions of underarm GSS package. My face become more radiant and smooth, my underarm dark patch have lightened just after 1 treatment.

True Shape hard-selling confirmed

Post by SourPlum » Thu, 31 Oct 2013 11:16 pm

I agree with the other poster who wrote that True Shape @ Orchard is full of hard-selling people.
I purchased a Groupon for Men's AbsPack Trim Treatment. Throughout the session the therapist never stop pestering to sign up for the much more expensive packages. Every single session is a 'psycho session' where the therapist would psycho me while I was receiving treatment. At the end of the treatment, the receptionists would join forces with the therapist to convince me to sign up. They virtually showered me with their saliva.

So guys do beware. The groupon offer is just a gimmick.
P/S: If the boss of True Shape reads this, please educate your employees not to drive your potential customers away. Such hard-selling will only damage your company's reputation.

DO NOT GO TO TRUE SHAPE!

Had one of the worst time there, lousy place with hard selling people. Initially was there to try their "Botanical Stem Cell" but it turn out to be a nightmare.

The manager only care abt selling me packages which at first i thought was attractive. They quoted me $4000 for 20 sessions but however my nets can only charge $2000, they offered to escort me to the atm.

On second thought, i do not want to commit myself in the package. So i refused, the manager and another beautician turned black face.

At the end i just pay my facial that was done and left, to my surprise i heard " IF no money, then don't come and try!"

I hope no innocent party will suffer from TRUE SHAPE at ADELPHI.
I bought their IPL Facial groupon and was confronted with the same hard selling tactics you encountered. All their groupons are just intended to rope in more *victims* to purchase their outrageously expensive packages.

Do not believe in other *good* reviews of this salon
http://singaporebeautyguide.com/microde ... -a-review/
as I tried to post a negative comment and it was rejected. So it's obvious the reviewer is connected with Trueshape. The reviewer said "complete quietness during your facial", but all I remembered was the persistent harrassment to sell their expensive packages. You will not get peace even during your facial.

Seems like they have not learnt their lesson since shifting to Orchard.
