Recommended Dress Maker

Post by mrsmonkie » Mon, 21 Jul 2008 3:22 pm

Can anyone recommend a good dressmaker. I'm after a cocktail dress to be made from a few pictures that I have. I don't have the actual pattern, which makes life a little harder.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to travel island-wide and willing to pay for good quality.

I guess my biggest need is a dressmaker that speaks fluent English, so I can explain my needs clearly.

If anyone has any good experiences with formal/cocktail dresses being made, please let me know.

I have about 9 weeks to get a dress organised.

Thanks in advance. :)

We use the ladies in "mode o day" at tanglin shopping centre who specializes in evening dresses.

But they have just been featured in the local press as one of the top tailors in Singapore, so no doubt they will be charging more and a queues will be at their door.

They charge $ 6000 for a complex evening dress
