5k and 10k runs in Singapore?

Post by ToriM2 » Sun, 20 Jul 2008 4:14 pm

Hi All! was wondering if anyone knew where I could get info on 5k and 10k runs here in singapore? I've been thinking of challenging myself to do one of these, but do not know what the upcoming schedule of runs are. Any info would be great. Thank you in advance.

There are a few coming up actually....

On Aug 24 it's the SAFRA Bay Run... I think there is a 5k, 10k, and half marathon

Aug 31 Nike Human Race 10k

Dec 8 Singapore Standard Charter Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10k, and MAYBE 5k

Hope that helps you out! There is a pretty big running community here in Singers, so races are pretty often.

Happy running!

check out safra website, or this runner website

on the right hand side of this website, gives you a few running societies/clubs...

usually you just keep an eye on the ads they post on newspapers, or they usually have flyers around, or ads posting around singapore full stop.

Thank you so much for the tips.

One more question, I would not want to drag the race down by coming in with a bad time. Would you know what a "decent" running time is per kilometer? (for a 5 and 10k)?

Thanks again. Really appreciate all the advice.

Gday!

Not me! I prefer my exercise air conditioned! Best of luck with your training.

Off the topic - Run fatboy run is quite a funny movie about a guy getting ready for a marathon, worth a look.
