Hi we are looking to lease a small car (something like a hyundai or similar would be fine) does anyone know roughly what you pay upfront and monthly for a small car?

You could probably call one of our advertisers "Expat Motors Singapore" to get an idea. They have a banner at the bottom of the page (left side) that links to their site.

You could also try calling Siang Hock Rentals: http://www.sianghock.com.sg/

I've used them for over 20 years but not for long term rental/leasing. Maybe some others here will be able to post the details or additional links of companies that they have used successfully.

Beware of private individuals attempting to lease their car to you though as you may be in violation of certain laws and little insurance coverage as well. You may well get some PM'ing you as we know that they often lurk here.

Shop around on the leasing agents and do let them know you are comparing. We leased our first car (Honda Odessy) and didn't have to put anything down but the monthly was higher. Our second car was more down but the monthly was a lot less. We saved probably 25% from the initial quote after negotiating with them based on other agency offers. --
Good luck!

:???:
No, it was an inadvertant 'control v' that landed it there! Oops. I edited it but couldn't see how to delete the other...
