Hi,
we are moving the Singapore early next year and might have to move into NUS professor housing by June 2010. I understand that most leases are for 2 years, so how easy is it to break that or indeed get a place with a 1 year lease in the first place?
thanks.

Should be no problem. Tell them upfront you want 1-year lease.

How easy is it to find a 1-2 bedroom for short term of 5-6 months? I know most owners prefer 2 years?
Last post
Yes usually owners will request higher rent for short terms ie: 3 months - 12 months..
Many owners are also not so keen even for 1-year.
