Local Lawyers re Setting up business??

Post by BUGILA » Fri, 11 Jul 2008 4:28 pm

Hi can anyone recommend a local lawyer to assist in setting up a business in Singapore. I am not referring to foreign law firms or JV practices. Just a good reliable local firm.

Essential criteria:
- fluent in English and can provide meaningful advice
- understands the broad Singapore legal issues that typically affect expats operating in Singapore

Non essentials
- price - lawyers are never cheap

Thanks in advance[/b]

Unless you are doing something highly specialized that requires permits or interaction with the government, you don't need a lawyer. Any decent CPA can handle all your needs, and in fact, my experience suggests that the last place you want to go is a lawyer.

You don't have enough posts for a PM. Drop me an email and I will send you the name of the CPA firm that set up my private limited and handles all the details.
