Now what makes you think he is from Sth America. Salvator :P BTW I can be well mannered at times, but I'm really trying to integrate into Singaporean life :) Oh I have a good question, why do Singaporeans never say goodbye, after a telephone conversation? or is it my hearing problem.

Hi KSL - Interestingly, I've found the opposite! I always get an "OK, bye bye" at the end of phone conversations.

However, one caveat, it COULD depend on the types of organisations I am speaking with - they tend to be corporates, banks, StarHub, furniture repairers, the serviced office etc - so retail/corporate customer service centers.
