Have been renting the same place for the last 6 years and the Landlord has not done much in the way of repairs, painting, etc.
What is a reasonable request to make in terms of new curtains, painting rooms, furniture, fixtures, etc?
What is the best appraoch to get the best response from teh Landlord?

Best to check the tenancy agreement, I recall some expect the tenant to make good, and keep in good repair all cosmectic items at their own expense.
Any fixtures and fittings that are broken normally the landlord repairs it, but in Singapore I noticed tenants are expected to contribute to the repair cost.
All depends how many people are lining up outside your door wanting to take over your lease, will probably effect how he will react to your requests
