I would head to the Funan Centre.

Now is the "Great Singapore Sale" so now is as good a time as any to buy i suppose. Given that everybody is struggling with increasing costs of stuff there may be a couple of good deals about to gain some sales.

you can get some rough guide prices at www.hardwarezone.com.sg. the great singapore sale is only as good if you find a good bargain. :)

Singapore is 240 volts, same as yours. Singapore is not the cheapest place to buy electronics. Most everything is cheaper in the US. I don't know if it is cheaper than India. You might check the prices in the link above and compare to what you can do locally. Also, you need to check your import regulations to insure that you do not find yourself required to pay duty.

i think 1 laptop is allowed...more than that at a time and you have to pay duty....but not too sure about it...lets see....you are the first person who is saying that singapore is expensive for electronics..rest were all telleing me it is cheaper thna india...not sure at all tho....!!!!!

Register and download the price lists from the various shops in Sim Lim and Funan Centre, there is a lot of choice.

From there, it's entirely up to you.

and ..if you're taking it back to India you can claim the tax back at the airport ( GST 7%)

There are 2 main IT malls here and more choice than you could ever wish for

Good luck

Hi, Dell usually have promotion for online shopping. You can visit Dell.com.sg or see Today newspaper for more information.
There will 4 IT related exhibitions every year. The next one will be in September.
One more thing, you can check with HP website. There will be a midnight and early bird sales every month.
I bought a laptop for my wife last month (w/ midnight sales) and it's quite ok.
