Office Furniture

Post by Strong Eagle » Sun, 29 Jun 2008 5:57 am

Can someone recommend an office furniture store with a good selection of chairs? I've been to V-Hive at Funan, nice but bloody pricey for the ones I'd like.

TIA

Can buy knock-offs in almost any mom & pop shop in HDB estates of the HM chair for about $250~300! Course it's not "BRANDED" !

My company had those - man they were comfortable. The only bad thing was that over time the mesh would rub against the fabric of your pants and 'polish' the fibres into a shine. Kinda like the sheen you get when you iron polyester.

SMS, can you give me a couple of names/locations? HM is nice stuff an plenty pricey as well. I've got a find a mesh chair... the hide of the Nauga that I am currently sitting in does not permit me to perspire and my home office does not have aircon... well, it does but I hardly ever turn it on.

For the past 10 years I have bought any kind of office-type chairs I needed from this shop at Hoa Nam building along Jalan Besar.

They have a good selection of chairs. I think they're priced okay as well.

Never ever paid any attention to the shop name, but they're hard to miss since they front the main road and dsiplay quite a lot of chairs outside their shop.

Hoa Nam building is at the start of Jalan Besar coming from the Bendemeer area, and is right next to that Lavender food court place.

Lizzo office furniture? Maybe something like that.

IKEA chairs are surprisingly good, as long as you don't pick the very cheapest ones. All chairs are ranked for durability/comfort, and as long as you pick the ones labeled for heavy-duty use, they'll last quite a while. The one I'm sitting on as I type this has taken almost five years of punishment and is still going strong...

I think IKEA also has a mesh type of chair as well if I remember correctly. Check out their online PDF Catelogue.

I never bothered to check the Mom & Pop shops for names but have remembered seeing them occasionally. There is a new office furniture shop on the ground floor of Enterprise Hub at Toh Guan Road East. Not sure if they carry anything similar or not. Also, there are some furniture stores in the same building that the Small Claims Tribunal is in (back of the block) access from the MOM building side.

If V-hive is considered pricey, herman miller is definitely out of the budget. LOL

If you want good chair at discounted price, there is a company selling away furnitures and chairs from last's year IMF meetings. Yes, they were used, but probably for less than a week. I got a branded table from them.

They've move to bendemeer I think, don't have their new address. They place adv on weekend ST.
