Looks like you've just missed something . . .
http://www.timbre.com.sg/music/index.htm

Most of the jazz clubs in Singapore are listed on the following website:
http://www.jazz-clubs-worldwide.com/docs/singapore.htm

Crowd favourites are Blu Jaz Cafe and Roomful of Blues, the latter has moved to 72 Prinsep St.
http://www.think.cz/issue3/07/live_music2.html

And there's

Bellini Room at St James Power Station
http://www.belliniroom.sg

Or more upmarket:

J Bar at M Hotel, Anson Road
http://www.millenniumhotels.com.sg/mhot ... /jBar.html

Blu at the Shangri-La

problem being they don't always have "blues" or bluegrass music on... (or this is the case when i go around snoopin)

i used to go to one of the hotels on sentosa, and the last time i was in singapore, i went to il lido lounge to listen to this lady after she left that hotel.

she (dawn) wasn't bad. but like most places, they tend to go towards other genres... jazz, samba, bosa nova or rock blues?

not even quite "o brother, where art thou"-ish that i enjoy now and then! good cd though! :)

*makes like he left ole Mississippi when the dang dawg ran away after da missus died*

why doncha go ask if you could sit in or have a one-man show or what not.

problem is... i think it may be a pretty thin crowd unless it's a divorcees' bar!

there'd be like, me and maybe a coupla depressed nerds. my wife doesn't enjoy blues unless it's got happy lyrics or at least and up-beat tune.

now, that ain't right!

but, seriously, if you're able to and you enjoy it, you should give it a shot.
