How can he work in Singapore?

Post by Delphi1988 » Mon, 23 Jun 2008 9:49 am

Can anyone provide some help here?

My boyfriend is a Malaysian and is now studying in Australia. He would like to look for a temporary/part-time job in Singapore when he is back for 3 months vacation.

Does he need a employment pass? If yes, what pass does he need and where can we apply.

Thank you.

Yes, he needs an Employment Pass or Work Permit. Which one? We have no idea because we don't know where he is going to work, he has to have a job offer before he can get an Employment Pass as it's the employer who needs to apply for it as his sponsor.

Search for Vacation Internship programs online. There are several useful websites such as

http://www.singaporeinternship.com/

http://www.internsg.com/

http://www.asia-interns.com/internship- ... singapore/

Depending on his field of study, he may even apply directly to the companies that he may be interested in

Normally, the company offering the internship will apply for a Training Pass for the successful candidate

hei guess what,

Thanks for that. I completely forgot about internships. Guess because in my industry we don't use them so really didn't give it a though. Will have to keep that one in the back of my mind from now on.

:)

I wonder what happened to the OP ? ? ?

What's with the youngsters these days? Asking Qs and not acknowledging the replies . . .

some people come in, ask questions, read the replies and then go back into their hole to plot the rest of their lives out in the dark...

Yup!, Was planning on updating the links page this weekend. But since you brought it up and it's lunchtime, I've already added it. Thanks.
