1) When they ask you to come 3 x a week for x number of months..Watch Out. You are about to be locked into a "chiropractic spa package" and spend anywhere between 2.000 to 7,000 dollars
2) You are told your condition is serious you have Stage 5 degeneration or something like that. Sounds scary right but wait till they tell u how much they want from your wallet.
3) You should be able to ask for you money back for whatever you have not consumed "No Questions Asked" refund policy. Check your black and white when you sign those long papers and questionnaire they give you.
4) Not sure about what you are told about your condition or how much you should spend, get a second opinion. You are smarter than that. One of my friends was locked into the system for 1 year only to find he has AS or some kind or irreversible spine disease. Now his disease has progressed to a more advance stage.
5) Don't believe everything you read in this forum. Check it out yourself get a real live person or friend referral.
Hi there. I made an account because I'm an expat too and this seems like the perfect thread. Apologies for old thread posting but I hoped someone could help me?
I've had lower back problems for the last year or so where it gradually has been getting worse (and I'm quite scared it will continue). The GP recommended physio but it isn't covered by my insurance. My company may help but i need a letter from a back specialist.
I've been trying to find a good one although I'm worried about so-called "specialists" who will just pressure you into buying expensive long packages.
From my research, I think i've narrowed it down to:
LifeSystems Chiropractic (Dr Timothy Lim)
and orthopaedic specialists from Mount Elizabeth Hospital
prices from consultation + xray cost around $130-200 which is fine. (at this time i just want a detailed consultation to understand what is wrong with my lower back and a letter from them, no treatment yet).
i was initially going for mount elizabeth since they sound professional, but from the email exchanges, it sounds like Dr Lim from LifeSystems sounds much more friendly and cheaper
But I haven't seen that many endorsements for LifeSystems
I really want my lower back to be fixed, and be fixed permanently, i don't mind paying a bit more so long as i know i wont be coming back after I'm treated
Would you still recommend Dr Lim/LifeSystem even after 7 odd years?
Any advice? I'm a bit desperate haha. I like Singapore a lot, but living here and dealing with healthcare issues really makes you appreciate the UK's NHS.
