Car Insurance

Post by quidsin » Tue, 17 Jun 2008 3:36 pm

Hi

Can anyone recommend car insurance companies in Singapore?

Also, do insurance companies generally accept "no claims discount" entitlement/proof from previous overseas insurer?

Thx

Hi..
Usually they are always tied with the package only for the first year of insurance..
After which the following year,u may not need to renew your 2nd year using the same insurance,u can altenatively use NTUC or other insurance which u think is more cheaper or better alternative for u..
And as for NCD usually its only for local or in other word, yours is 0% NCD..

Hi there,

it really depends on what type of car you are driving. Before that I was driving the bmw z4 2.5si and i got the insurance from msig and i pay about 2k plus per year after the NCD. I thought NTUC WAS CHEAP! But I was wrong! I changed my car to bmw 335 convertible and I called Ntuc and just because the car is 3 litres, they quote me about 4 k per annum which is ridiculous! I called MSIG AND i was quote the same price as my z4. To them, it doesn't matter about the type of car you drive but for NTUC, just because it's 3 litres engine, they charge more!!!

edited to remove solicitation and just add website: http://www.msig.com.sg/

I just moved last year and I went with NTUC....... because they were the only one to accept my personal NCB from my previous country for use on my company car here.

Private NCB to private NCB is usually easy.
