It depends. There is no magic.

If you go back to eating they way you did, then you'll put weight back on.

If you use what you learnt on the programme and maintain it, then you want.

If you put weight back on after dieting then it's not really that diets fault. it's more likely the dieters fault.

The programme teaches you how to maintain your weight. I definitely can't go back to eating like before, ie, irregular but huge meals, tonnes of carbs, minimal vegetables, a whole bar of chocolate or a half-tub of ice-cream at a go. But I know I can have my chocolate and my ice-cream, and I can have my carb meal too. Also, if I binge too much over a weekend, I'm taught how to eat the next few days so that the weight does not rise. That's what I've gathered from a friend who has maintained her 20kg weight loss and from reading experiences of others in forums.

freecat,

There is no diet on the face of the earth that can prevent you from shoving groceries in your gob if you are determined to do it. If you have inner demons that you cannot control you need to seek help there as well as dieting. Obviously you have a problem as you are a self diagnosed yo-yo'er. After you finish a diet, if you go back to your same eating habits, then the same thing is going to happen all over again.

Congrats SMS, must have taken a lot of determination on your part, =D>

Any side effects, tiredness, irritability, urge to head butt your opponents?

but more importantly, what does the mrs think about your new found vigor?

To be perfectly honest, it took very little determination. I'm one of those people who GAS (give a s***) at what other people think and have always followed my own drummer as we used to say.

It's like when I quit smoking 3.5 years ago. I laid them down at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon after 37 years of smoking pipes, cigars, cigarettes. I never picked up another one. Never have withdrawal symptoms either. I quit in my mind before I quit lighting up.

I did the same thing when I started this weight loss program after researching everything in the market, determined this one was the absolute best there was. Before I signed on the dotted line I already had lost the weight in my minds' eye so the rest of the 5.5 months was just a process to get where I already was.

The only side effect is the lack of body tone, which is being rectified now. The process will NOT ALLOW any exercise program as you are not taking in enough to fuel anything other than existence on a normal scale. I had lots of energy, especially after llosing around 6.5 Kg the first month, but no stamina. The side effects for me were a sense of pride and accomplishment. My whole carriage changed. It was about ME. I did this for ME. Sometimes, when we are married for a long time, we tend to forget that "ME" matters as well. We tend to get so involved with "Family" and overlook "ME". My whole outlook on life in general has changed immensely and this also probably went a long, long way to getting rid of the HBP as well as the dietary changes did. I look & feel 20 years younger and now actually feel ready to make more changes to my life (I think that's what my boss fears as well).

Before, looking like a slug and feeling about the same, I was personally, ashamed to attempt to "move on". So just stayed at a job that I hate (due to perks not position). Now I'm not afraid to look anymore. I have regained a large measure of my pride and when I start getting fitter this feeling good about me factor will only increase.

The wife thinks it's fantastic! And while not on a diet, she's cutting back on Carbs trying to download some of her excesses as well!

Another side effect is all the extra blood that was coursing through those extra kgs, it still there so it has to go somewhere! :o Which is NOT a bad thing! :P

If you are overweight you might consider it.

Yo SMS!

I'm gonna PM you. That's sounds incredible. I've put on 7 kgs last X'mas (in Singapore with 4 meals a day) and haven't lost a single gram of it since I returned to Italy. That put me at 15Kgs over what I used to weigh 6 years ago. And next week I'll be home eating away again... :?

But it'll be tough if I have to stop eating because I really love to eat. :P

But imagine being able to fit (again) into those clothes waiting for me in my wardrobe..Maybe worth a try!
Je pense donc je suis. Le reste du temps, je ne suis qu'une fleur.
