I almost moved into 8 @ Sophia. I just moved to Singapore from US, and 8 @ Sophia was very attractive place for me for the location and the convenience.

I initially saw a unit in the building facing the club house, so it feels secluded (yet having a view of the pool). Also the two balconies were connected, so it was really nice. The asking price was 7000 SGD (two bedroom unit). But that was before I had a set moving day, so I couldn't get the unit.

Later on, once I moved to Singapore, I saw 3-4 units, but they were all facing the other units and feels there's no privacy. I did find a nice one facing the backwall (no pool view, but has a nice view of the greenery and fountains) - this one was 3-bedroom unit, which I didn't need. And they were asking 8000 SGD, so I decided not to pursue.

I found it little awkward to walk to the MRT as you have to go through the parking lot of Plaza Singapura.

But overall, I liked the location and the facility.

Hi, I have been looking and one of the nicer apartments I have seen is 8@Mount Sophia. WHat I need to know is does all of the apartments come with a fully fitted kitchen.ie cooker, oven, fridge etc.
And very importantly we have a budget and averagly what do they cost.

I think the fridge is not included- you get a microwave, oven, and the gas cooker.

I moved into 8 @ t Sophia a few weeks ago and I love it! Two bad thigs, pool only gets sun for a few hours a day and lots of step down to street level. You don't necessarily have to go through Plaza Sing carpark, there is another side gate down to handy road which I think is more convenient. Highly recommend it!

I moved in early July - and really happy with my choice! It is so convenient, close to everything. I agree, there are lots of stairs, but at least we don't have to walk up ALL the stairs that lead to Mount Sophia Road!

My unit is a 1 bedroom, came with all appliances (oven included) and the kitchen is quite big and open, which I like. I haven't see the two bedroom units though, but I would imagine that the kitchen would be slightly larger. I also love that there is a balcony! and from what I have seen, the bigger units have big balconies that link the bedroom and the living room, which is really nice.

Thinking of mvoing in to 8 @ Sophia

Post by Luey74 » Mon, 09 Feb 2009 1:41 pm

I am currently looking at renting an apartment at 8 @ Sophia but a bit concerned about the stairs, is there another way of getting into the building which is a bit easier if you have a pram??
