I love it!
On this our tiny island
No majestic mountain range
No waves crashing upon cliff
No endless dunes of sand
No wildlife roaming free
But what we have is awesome
Skies filled with fearsome light
Thunder roaring through the air
Spears of rain that pierce the skin
Ah, nature remembers us still.
Ok, 'fess up. Who quakes? And who revels?

I just quit perspiring and revel in the comfort and freshness of it all. (unless I've go to go to work in it!).

SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers

Revel, definitely. I for some reason sleep a lot better when it's absolutely pounding it down outside. Of course, if I was outside it would be a different story entirely.

it starts with a whisper
only a few can hear
it moves with a speed
only gods can see
it brings with it life
and death
a cycle
from the dawn of time
till the end
---//---
"daddy, why does it rain?"
she asked with the courage only a 5 year old could muster
"because god is crying honey"
his wife thought that was the sweetest thing
"but why is god crying?"
curious now, less afraid
"probably because of something you did"
some signatures are more equal than others

I'm one of those people that love the rain while I'm sleeping! Nothing more conducive to a good night's sleep.
Love the poem too. BTW WIMH, I've been following the exchanges between you and the dancing fruit. Very entertaining with the play on words and wit.

Should readers care to look around on the web you can find CD's that have no other sound recorded and is used in the treatment of tinnitus.

Very interesting and informative Plavt.
Music as a healing tool and why not? Even plants respond to classical music.

Thanks Ozchick and GC. That storm really inspired me! And I'm old enough now that even if everybody thought the poem sucked, I couldn't care less. The words just came and I had to get them out of my system.

Thanks dear. I'm sure you were too polite to mention that I supplied the wit and he the words.
(His poem was quite good though. But don't tell him I said so or he'll fantasize that I adore him...)

It doesn't really bother me buts its fun to watch.
Mind you one night I was sleeping and I had the window open. I was awoken by a sound (I'm a really heavy sleeper) and thought hmm what was that and then I hear something that sounded like a bomb going off. I swear that the lighting was going on in my
condo complex cause it was the same sound as when I saw a lighting bolt hit the carpark outside of my work back in melbourne.

Like several others, I find I sleep so well with the sound of rain.
