Is getting your security deposit back difficult here?

the two landlords i had returned my deposit without any issues.

i'm sure there could be exceptions... but i believe in keeping good relations with my landlord and everything was in good condition.

Anecdotal evidence would suggest so....

Do some searches in the 'Relocating, Moving to Singapore' & 'Staying, Living in Singapore' Forums. Quite a number of threads there regarding same.

It can be. Document the state of your apartment before you move in, and don't hesitate to take the landlord to small claims tribunal if they don't pay it back within the contractual period.
