Experience with Dr Chuang From Wish Clinic

Post by lillevase » Sat, 27 Jul 2013 11:41 pm

It seems that Dr. Chung from wish clinic has received quite a number of negative reviews.

Just wish to share my experience here:

I had my online consultation with him last dec (P.S. not just with him, but with the specialist from BK clinic (korea) too). I had issues with my eyes (Looking way too small) and i seek their opinion on what should be done to my eyes.

Both gave the same reply which made me had more confident for Dr. Chung. To be honest, i decided to go ahead with Dr Chung as i have the following concerns:

1) Budget (Accom+Flight+Surgery cost more than 8K USD for the treatments BK Clinic advised)

2) Location (Taiwan was much closer to home)

3) Language (As korean specialist is proficient in korean language than English, I was afraid that i could not bring my message across, especially when they will use scientific terms to explain the procedures. Taiwan speaks Mandarin and i could too so, i felt safer.

4) Dr Chung has the back up from a well known aesthetic surgeon in SG whom i trust.

For the concerns of my eyes and one other minor concern (thick lips), both specialists mentioned that i should consider the following treatment:

a) Ptosis correction (To correct my lazy/asymmetrical eyes)
b) Blepharoplasty/Korean style mini incision (To make my eyes bigger)
c) Epicanthoplasty (To get an almond snape eye)
d) Lip reduction (To get better lip shape)

After numerous email exchanges with Dr Chung and phone calls with the nurses, I decided to go ahead with the surgery during the last week of Dec 2012 (Best gift for Christmas!).

I guess what made the operation successful was communication. The email exchanges and phone calls made me clear and understood the imperfections on my facial features. During the day of face-face consultation, I guided the doc along on how i wanted the outcome to be like. He will then share his professional views with me and after a thorough discussion and simulation (He did partial sketching for me so i had a clearer view of the procedure), i went on the surgery on the 2nd day.

The operation (Under sedation) was a pretty short one (Close to 2 hours) and I was under observation for nearly an hour after the operation (They will make sure you are fine to leave). The doc gave clear instructions on the oral medications and i followed them exactly for the following 5 days (Stitches removal day!). I would rate the pain level after the surgery to be moderate high (i guess my pain tolerance was quite low).

Swelling was the worse on day 2 and on day 7, bruising was almost gone. As i have sensitive skin in nature, the swelling only subside (70%) by the 2nd week. The final natural result would only be complete after 6 months (my experience). I went for work (in a new environment) 17 days after the surgery and no one was able to tell that i had the surgery done so i guess, it only looked unnatural to me as i knew (psychological effects) that i went through the surgery.

So, here i am, happy with the result and i am now in Taiwan (again) to correct the other part of my concern: high cheekbone. I always wish to get a oval shaped small face and because of my high cheekbone, i have a weird face shape which makes me look unfriendly. I will proceed with the surgery on Mon (I just did medical check up today) and I will be glad to share the upcoming post-surgery story if anyone is interested :)

Dr Chen on Eyes and Dr Kao on Nose

Post by done » Sun, 23 Mar 2014 3:11 pm

This is my 1st post in this forum, I used a new username as opposed to my usual username in other reputable forums as I would like to remain anonymous.

Last Nov, I went to Taipei for my mini-incision double eyelid surgery with Dr Chen in Regent 麗晶 (http://www.beauty899.com).
Apparently the only way to contact them is only by calling. Even when I mentioned that can I email them my photo, they are like "no, we cannot view the elasticity of your eyelids through email photo as well, we need to see you physically to assess".

So yeah, there I went to visit Dr Chen with the possibility that I may not be able to do the surgery. However, the receptionist did mentioned that for my age (early twenties), the probability of doing mini-incision double eyelid is relatively high.

Yes, I did manage to do it. Dr Chen was very nice, he was very patience and soft. I was so tired during the whole process as I took an overnight flight to Taipei, then to hotel where I cannot check-in as it is too early, then waited until 11am for my appointment with Dr Chen (that was the only timing, no earlier timing for overseas guests which I don't understand - the reason they gave me twice was different, when I first booked, they claim Dr Chen was doing surgery at another venue, the second time when they called me nearer to date for confirmation on surgery, the excuse they gave this time was Dr Chen was lecturing at other place. But ends up when I went for my appointment, I saw another girl just finished her surgery.)

This is really fine, I don't care about their excuses, why I wrote this part was because I am really dead beat tired as I haven sleep since the flight all the way to 11am consultation, then after consultation still have to wait as they said they need to sanitise the surgery equipment hence ask me to go out take a walk, have lunch before returning at 2pm for surgery.

I am literally walking like a vampire. It is so exhausting!
I want to say that Jermaine did a very good job explaining the process of the double eyelid surgery:http://jermaineee.com/tag/double-eye-lids-surgery

Because I was so freaking tired that I can literally sleep, I have entirely no pain at all. The LA injection on the eyelid was nothing as the needles are so tiny, even smaller than normal acupuncture needles. I did not squeeze my eyes because of nervous or whatever, everything was painless. (Jermaine said that she squeeze her eyes when she has her injection hence she has bruises after that). I don't have much bruises, probably only on 2nd day and 3rd day which are very minor.

Thanks to Jermaine's constant update on her blog, I saw her recovery stage as well as how the eyelid swelling subside after a year and so forth. I thought I like how her eyelids look on her 10th day (she chose a medium fold). And I read on, until her most recent update photo on how her eyelids look after 22months, I am like "no, that is not for me, I want a higher eyelid" hence I go for a somehow high-fold.

The only feeling i felt during surgery was perhaps the pulling of my eyelids because I think doctor need to use the mini-incision hole from the middle to pull it left and right to remove our eyelid fats. Sometimes when I feel a little "spicy feeling" as in paper cut feeling, I will inform Dr Chen and he will drip more anaesthesia on my eyelid.
Dr Chen really make my day, he is so freaking nice during the operation and consoled me like "ä¸
