This doctot yang website looks good. i think he is a eyes plastic surgery specialist. his website got lots of info abt eyelid surgery.. good read..

he even got pictures for eyelid shape change surgery which dawn yeo did.. good stuff.

he compiled what i read from various website into one website for eyeld surgery. .with pics, last time i had to imagine to understand what they write abt. reading it correct the mistakes of my past imagination.. haha good recommendation..

one most important thing i find is that he explain with pics why i tell girls to go for kai yantou and eyelid enlargement surgery over just a normal double eyelid surgery..

nicenose wrote:hi Angeluv101, so happy all went well for you! was it really painful?? cause if i go myself, no one is going to get food for me... stress..

Anyway, how much did Dr kao charged you?

thks nicenose :)

Pain is bearable, it only hurts when u exert engery to get up and lie down the bed or coughing/sneezing. It gets much better after 3days onwards.
It is really better to have someone take care of you especially during the 1st night cos the rib hurts more and you may have prob getting up and down the bed, going to toilet with the drip. You can still call the nurse to help you if you are too groggy to walk but it seems like that's not within their job. I see other patients with mothers or maids sleepin overnight to take care of them. I was told the nurses does not take care of you and they are quite short handed. If you are alone, you can still order their hospital food, it's not expensive but have to follow their meal times. Also when you discharge, you have to collect medication yourself on the first floor, pay at the cashier etc so it helps to have someone help you on these tasks in case you are too weak to walk around.

Angeluv101 wrote:Hi all,

Just did my nose with Dr Kao last week. Since noone has experience with him here yet so thought I can share mine here.

Dr Kao has really good knowledge of the nose and is very confident in his work. He is as friendly as he sounds like in his emails and gives very detailed consultation. Discussion was almost 2hrs and he makes sure there is mutual understanding on the nose shape I want with pictures of models. You can bring your own pics but Dr Kao has tons of model pics taken from magazines. I was quite surprised to see he also printed out my photo beforehand and he also does photo imaging so I can see how my nose looks like. I like that he takes the consultation professionally and seriously.

This is my 3rd revsion. I did it twice with Dr Chuang and the reason for this revision is due to a deviated implant from the 2nd revision. Exact reason I am still not sure cos both Dr C and Kao had different views. Dr C feels the deviation is slight only and I can keep it that way, not necessary to go through revision to correct it. Faintz.. who will not mind having a crooked nose? Honestly, he is too busy and consultation with him is stressful cos he always has another surgery to rush for and limited time to talk.

So I went ahead with Dr Kao. Did rib cartilage and the surgery took around 7hrs. Was hospitalised for 2 nights due to the GA.
Rib hurts slightly especially 1st 2 nights, pain was terrible when getting off the bed and coughing. I stayed at Kang Ning hospital and the service were quite limited. Better to have someone to take care of you during the stay cos nurses there are different from Sg. They only do their job like changing drips, take blood pressure. If you need help to get off the bed or to go toilet, they are relunctant to help you. Food is not included in the hospital stay uness you want to order from them at additional cost. But there is a 7-eleven below if you can walk there, otherwise it is better to have someone to help you get food.

Results so far is very good and I'm happy with my nose now. But it is only one week and swelling still so have to wait longer to see the final results. No regrets going to Dr Kao. He has very good post op follow up too, quite caring doctor. Comes to the ward everyday to check everything is alright and after I came bk to sg, he emails me first to ask how is my nose doing and any probs.

Sorry for the long posts, but hope these info can give a better idea to those who are still considering which docs to go to in Taiwan. :)
Thanks for sharing such valuable information. It's unfortunate to hear that your rhinoplasty procedures with dr. chuang had not gone smoothy. What materials did you use to augument your nose? Did you get any alarplasty or tiplasty done?

After hearing a few negative results from dr.chuang, i'm trying to look for a different plastic surgeon now
No prob, just contributing my share of experience so others can decide better which doc is suitable.

I did full rhinoplasty including alar and tiplasty. 1st time using silicone I implant with septal cartilage. Results were not good enough, bridge is thick and tip is still round. I like a sharp nose so Dr Chuang changed to a higher L shaped implant and added ear cartilage. The tip got sharper but not really what I wanted. I was ok with it until the implant shifted and it was quite obvious. Scared it might be turn into infection later on, so decide to change to rib cartilage. And Dr Kao website photos looks very good to me.

Dr Chuang is still good but he does not specialise in nose. He is well known for breasts. And his style is conservative, does not suit me. But then, he did my epi and eyes very nicely. I went back to him for calves reduction together with my 2nd nose revision cos I still prefer his friendly and patient personality. But, his business has grown tremendously over the year and now he has even lesser time to speak to you. Consultation or follow ups will be fast and rushed cos he has so many patients waiting for him. And the waiting time is horrible, at least 1hr? It is getting annoying to wait so long and when you finally get to see him, he can only spare you 10-15mins. I was also quite pissed when he says my deviated implant is alright and leave it this way. It sounds like he is maybe too busy to slot in a revision for me so he is shrugging me off not to have surgery now.

What surgery are you doing? Doctors have their own speciality. Have to be sure what you want and which doc can meet ur expectations and if you are comfortable with him. I think there is enough reviews here on other docs to help you with your decision. :)

Am just doing my part here to help others understand more and not make wrong decisions. Also those who are keen in Dr Kao can have a firmer idea now that someone has "tried" and confirm he is as skillful as his website potrays.. lolz :D

I am planning to go for double eyelid, epi, and rhinoplasty (with tiplasty, alarplasty and augumentation)
I had originally planned to go to Chuang since I would be able to get all my procedures done at the same time by a good doctor at a good price. But after hearing some of the comments made by various posters, I am trying to find another good surgeon who can provide the same services by Chuang for about the same price..

Quite a toughy =(

But thank you so much for all the info!

Actually im surprised Dr Kao's consultation took 2 hrs!!!

I have another forum friend(call her A), who had another Taiwan friend (sorry, complicated), her consultation (Tw fren) was only about 10mins or less.
And after the surgery, she hated her nose. and she blames it on the fact that Dr Kao didnt spend much time on consultation with her.

That's how i actually came to a conclusion Dr Hsu was better and eventually A did with Dr Hsu & was very happy!

So i did intended to do with Dr Hsu (although i prefer Dr Kao's examples in his website)aft doing cheek and jaw shaving with Dr Chuang...

Now im having 2nd thoughts..

Angeluv101, how much were u charged? Since it's revision, it would be more ex right? My friend wants to do a revision bcos she's not happy with the results of silicone done in Thailand. If it's not convenient to disclose the price here, u can pm me.

Just to share with everyone, i was quoted TWD100k by Dr Kao when i sent my pics over early this yr and TWD120k by Dr Chuang..i did not even consider the latter bcos it's too ex and he's not known for noses(esp we r r talking about ribs here)...however pls just use the figures as a guideline bcos it's usually case by case..
Email for the doctors for more info.

Hope this helps!

I emailed dr kao also lehz. He like very chin chai like that. Also, I kept on telling him I don't want alarplasty, don't want alarplasty, got other ways to make the nose slimmer without alarplasty not, and he totally never reply my question at all lorhz, just keep on saying we can do alarplasty.
but i admit larhz, compared to dr hsu's pictures, i like his style more lehz. how how huh?

For rhino/alar/fix my sensitive. Out of my budget leh. Unless he type in one more zero. haha.
I don't think that is right. If my conversion is right he quoted me "It will cost 60000 NT for the ear cartilage and 80000 NT for the GoreTex and ear cartialge grafting" which I think is est. 2000 to 2500 USD. I got that off the internet. He might have added another zero. Well lets hope so cause I couldn't afford that.

Angeluv, I really love your results with Dr. Kao. The bridge of yours does look high and I wonder if it is expected to go down after a few years (toriumi philosophy).

I was quite hesistant with TW docs since none of them seem to give the type of results I prefer. Dr. Kao is the first positive one I've seen. Even better that he is an ENT.

I'm thinking of considering sending Dr. Kao an email but the website gives me a headache! So many chinese words! Does anyone know his contact email?

On a side note, has anyone suffered from "over agressive rhinoplasty" before? I had a high bridge which was shaved down too much when all I wanted to remove was a tiny lump, done by one of the blue eyed boys here - kinda left me with a washed out look from the front. Now I probably need an augmentation instead :(

Foubelle: I think its quite unlikely to make the nose "slimmer" without alarplasty. It will look weirder in my opinion if one had a higher bridge (looks sharper) with flared out nostrils ? Just my 2 cents.

okay I don't know why dr kao quoted me 4000 us for autologous rhinoplasty o_O
I mean my nose is actually easy to work with cos the bridge higher than an average asian. I asked a discount, wtf how come you guys get quoted 2500 T_T

no fair.
