Been on/off following this thread since it was created and after reading all the positive reviews and great results with Dr.Kao I decided to finally book him for Sept.27 surgery.

Just wanted to offer to anyone if they need recommendation/tour guide/emotional support/companions let me know. I will be in TW from Sept23-Oct8 and have been there half dozen times in the last 2 1/2 years so very familiar with TP. My gf is from TW and will be staying with me as well.

I find it amazing that you are quite satisfied with how your nose looks like now, even with all that swelling. So, it must have been quite a fabulous job. Congrats!

If it's not too much to ask, do you mind sharing pictures, privately via pm or here?
yup i think dr kao did a good job!

i'll share some pictures soon. i didn't take any before photos so i've got to do some digging through my old photos!

7) results

my nose isn't that similar to the celebrity nose i requested (it was more of a guideline anyway), but it's really not due to dr kao's surgical skills but my inherent limitations. my bridge was very, very, very flat and almost non-existent D: he did the best he could by adding 6mm of goretex (the max i think) but my bridge still kinda flat. however, he did a lovely job with my tip! it was very flat, fat and upturned and and made it look very pretty. i think it's important to be realistic and right now i'm quite happy with the results even though my tip is still swollen.

Hi Flyawayfriday,
I had my rhinoplasty with Kao in mid June and like you I had similar problems that I had wanted him to correct but using costal cartilage. I am almost 50 days post op but my nose still looks upturned and my tip is still very bulbous just like it was pre-op. My tip doesn't look extended either. I was just wondering if your upturned problem was corrected and noticeable after Kao removed the cast. What about the tip? Is it longer now. Your input is greatly appreciated! Can you share your before and after pics with me? Just the nose and I will do the same. I have a feeling my tip will need to be revised.
hi bclioness42,

my upturned problem was corrected about 80%? but now it's not a hideous upturn but like a cute upturn. yeah i think my tip is much longer.

but sometimes i feel like i still look a little bulbous. and from some angles i look kinda like a fox/mean person. but i think it's got to do with the swell because i've gradually been getting less mean/foxy looking :)

but i think you shouldn't worry so much as of now! many people don't have the luxury of having their ideal nose so soon after surgery and perhaps the swelling makes your tip appear bigger and more upturned.
stay positive! :)

i'll share my b&a pics soon, sorry for the wait!

Hi everybody, I've been reading all of ur posts diligently and have decided to go for Dr Kao with all the great reviews about him. I have already sent him an email and as what most of u have said in the forum, his rply was indeed 1-2 liner and he doesn't really answer my question.
Well, I'm planning to head down for consultation 6-7ish sept and proceed with the opt if everything goes well and start backpacking for another 3 wk to a mth if situation permits (is this even possible?)
Any kind soul who can email me their before and after pic by Dr Kao, estimated price? Gladly appreciate all of ur help :):)

Deswelling would take up to a year. 50 days is still too early to tell if swelling has subsides.. it's recommended by many surgeons that to wait a year to do any revision. So i think you should wait further.

In the links below is a lady who also wants to do revision at 4 mths. But ALL plastic surgeons that replied are saying its too early and there still swelling. So hopes it put your mind at ease.

Hi Twig,
Thanks for the input. I think I was expecting too much too soon and I think I was somewhat depressed after I got home. In addition to the Rhinoplasty, I also had double eyelid surgery and the result from that wasn't ideal either so... I knew from the start that it would take up to a year for the nose to settle to its final shape. But I also heard from some other forumers that they were able to see the new tip right away and I don't see mine. I am closer to 90 days post now and I still don't see any change. Needless to say, the eyelids are still uneven. I am already thinking of visiting Dr Kao again next fall. With so many passing noses, unsure if he'll remember me.

sorry, i couldn't figure out how to resize these images :/ other than to resize before uploading, but i figured some people might want larger pics for reference.

i hope my b&a photos help anyone who's considering dr kao. as you can see from pic 1 my nose was extremely flat. maybe that's why i can observe a dramatic change as opposed to those who already had okay-ish noses.

generally, i'm happy :) i mean, considering my old nose, i think dr kao produced rather natural and pretty results.

but as pic 3 indicates, my nose is still bulbous looking from the front! i think the lighting in the picture exaggerates things but it's still larger than i would prefer. i hope it continues deswelling

Updates on Rib Rhinoplasty Revision with Taiwan Dr Kao Chuan Hsiang!

Dr Kao is a very Patience & Friendly dr. He isnt a very over sales business minded doctor, he will only advise his patients with the best necessary surgery and he is very honest to share all information about any complication and solution. :o

Silicone Removal Surgery (Worries)- I told him want a natural curve bridge with good nasal tip projection and my concern is silicone skin thinning issue. So Dr kao advise me to remove my silicone & remain my ear cartilage+Septal cartilage in my nasal tip for projection. He mention that my radix height is gd enough to support my nasal tip projection. During consultation, He agreed that i have a very small face profile which small nose suits me better. If i go for rib graft might be a waste for me because i only need 1mm height on dorsum augmentation. There won't be any nasal tip augmentation on as my nose tip already have septal & ear cartilage in it.

The only thing im worried about after implant removal i may face supra tip depression without implant replacement. Dr Kao again diagnose my nose seriously and he replied that i need not worry about my nose tip and he reassure me i wont have complication with it. His Only concern was he worried that i dont like my original nasal bridge height so he recommend me to do rib Rhinoplasty after silicone removal if i dislike my nose height after removal of implant.

He told me if after removal, i like my nose as what it is then i can just paid 10k NT ($424 sing dollar) for implant removal surgery.

This solution sounds goood fair me so i go ahead with it. Right after my silicone implant was removed, my skin thinning issue was resolved immediately, surgery was fast & i have no contracture issue, result of my nose indeed as gd as what he predicted. i love my new nose!

Freaking speaking i like his Honesty and he wasnt pushy. Most importantly he got a Very Good Aesthetic View.

My Younger Brother Rib Rhinoplasty Surgery
My Bro went through total of 3 rhinoplasty surgery with different Dr.

First primary surgery was in SG - His Silicone L Implant shift and was remove after 2 weeks.

Sec Rhino was done in Taiwan Wishclinic Stupid Dr Chuang.

My Bro L implant silicone extruded after 1 yr post ops on beginning May 2012. My failed Evelid surgery was done by this idiot dr too! This irresponsible dr was not honest & over promising. Worst important thing is he only do what he likes on patients and refused to listen to his patients. Hence he got a very bad Aesthetic View and lousy skill!
This Taiwan trip we went to Look for him for Refund and he was very defensive and unwilling to do refund for us. So here, i have future planning to gather a group of forum member who face the same thing to lauch a complain in Singapore Embassy to take action against him in taiwan medical board soon.
DEAR ALL MEMBERS IF U R A VICTIM OF JIMMY CHUANG! I hope you r willing to join our group to lauch a complain against him. Dont let him enjoy earning a big buck there with lots of failed surgery done on Poor patients like us....

Final 3rd Rib Rhinoplasty By Dr Kao Chuan Hsiang

Dr Kao diagnose my bro have a crooked septal due to past silicone extrusion and there are alot of scar tissue around his nasal tip and asymmetrical nostril holes.. My bro has a short and upturned nose.

Dr Kao did my bro revision with perichondium to wrap on rib graft to repair scar tissue, fill up his pinched nose at upper lateral alar area as well to prevent rib graft from warping. Ear Cartilage was harvest to lengthen his nasal tip projection as my bro do not have enough septal cartilage for tip augmention because Jimmy chuang has removed too much septal cartilage from his previous nose surgery. :x This is also one of the reason that cause my bro nose tip having pinched nose appearance! Columellar strut was pull out to give his nose a better tip projection too and nasal asymmetrical was corrected after the rib nose surgery. My Bro Rib Rhinoplasty Revision was a very successful surgery. He Is now very happy with his result, overall satisfaction was 95%..
Rib Wound was very small, its around 1cm long. Dr Kao use Suture buried stitching method. This is absolutely great for wound healing.

Wow, i am absoutely fascinated by the 1CM RIB SCAR!! how is that possible? Especially he's a guy, doesnt he need more than 3mm of height augmentation? My scar from Korea is freaking 5CM!!! And im a girl :-((( This makes me even more crushed that I didnt consider Taiwan for my primary!

Re: So has anyone done double eyelids with dr kao?

Hi, can I know where you get the bad review for dr yang art wood from ? I am considering him for my eyelid revision end of this year. Read through the entire forum.. So far only one commented against him. Dr Cher is dr mcdreammie from 整形達人。。I read his website b4 he seems to be able to do what you said as well as scarless levator muscle surgery which i have never heard of.. But his post surgery pics aren't as captivating.. Anyone who had eyelid revision done by him or dr yang from artwood please comment...
