Hi everyone,

I am new here and I am planning to go to Taiwan in either late May or early June. I have went to Taiwan a few times before and have consulted 3 doctors before so I am pretty familiar with the place. I understand that a lot of you guys are also planning to go during May or June. Anyone have already confirmed their accomodation there already?
Hi Luckystar,
As I don't have enough post to pm. May I have your email? I may be able buddy up with you if you don't mind :)

His specialty seems to be this Japanese method called 日式訂書針 which is reputed to be very natural and very short recovery downtime and that is why it is so popular among the Taiwanese working adults.

If anyone has done or heard anything about Doctor Cher please respond asap because I really want to know if he is that good from a fellow Singaporean.
have you gone to Doctor Cher yet? is he good?
Hi everyone,

Anyone in this forum went to Cher before? And anyone knows of any good plastic surgeons for eyelid surgery in Taiwan? Any recommendation would help. Thks 

hi all i am now 1 month post op with dr kao, taiwan. to recap, i went to him for revision after 2 weeks from first rhinoplasty with dr lee, vip of korea. i think my bridge did not go down much in one month. and most people say 1 month most of 80% swelling will go down. my nose is huge. i mean high n also long. dr kao kept telling me its the swelling, but i asked a few other doctors, including one in my country and he said its unlikely the bridge will go down. because there is 2-3mm augmentation. and it still feels hard.
to dr kao patients/rib patients....does your bridge go down substantially...and in how long?
cos at this rate, i think i want a revision to take out the brige and just keep the ear cartilage at the tip. cos the tip projection had improved and i like to keep that.

I know exactly how you felt as I am a rib rhino patient with kao

trust me, 1 month is not enough to see anything close to stable.

I am at 2 months and my nose is still changing

when I was 1 month my nose was still swollen and I still had to wear a face mask because I had a HUGE nose

now i am 2 months post op and i feel confident. my nose tip is getting sharper which i want, BUT my bridge has gotten lower :( (dislike)

I may get a revision to raise bridge next year.....

Hi Nose/ClaireDoll

I emailed Dr Kao twice a week ago and still no reply. I don't think it typically takes him this long to reply unless for some reason he is not interested in earning my business. Any suggestions? I did write to him in English. As for your Op experience with Dr. Kao, can you share the details in the forum? Was he on time? Did you feel any pain during the procedure that freaked you out? Were you in so much pain on day 1 and 2 that you weren't able to walk to the bathroom without help!? Did you stay overnight at the clinic? Trilogytwist's description of his/her experience really scarred me. It would be great if more of you can your experience with Kao to ease my/our fears. Thanks

hi bclioness42, u emailed him in english i see. I emailed him in mandarin n although he does reply, its always short n rushed i feel. Sorry i dont know, are u already his patient or....looking for him to do primary?

This is what i feel. When i asked him before surgery for consultation, he is more helpful. After surgery, I FEEL he become less interested. I voiced my concern that my nose is still too huge, initially before surgery he said his patients, compared to other hospitals, generally will experience less swelling n faster recovery period. But after surgery when i keep asking him why its still so tall, he keep saying its the swelling etc and changed his asnwer back n forth -__- my mom was there too. She also felt that.

nose,
how many mm did he say he raised on your bridge? wow im surprised u want higher! wish i can give mine to u lol. its so embarrasing....when i went out....some girls that i just know of....were discussing behind my back that i definitely had a nose job. im already quite sensitive....i now think my natural bridge fine is fine...more low key anyway...

Dr Kao may be very busy because he usually replies in a day or two. English is not a problem as that is what I wrote in. He speaks english and understands

My op experience was like, the lion in Madagascar if you've seen that haha. I felt like Alex the lion when he got shot with the tranquilizer (except I didn't get shot obviously), I just felt the world spinning and soon....i woke up, 6 hours after surgery.

and i was on the hospital bed. I actually felt fine! A little dizzy from the GA, but no pain, just a little soreness from the rib (like when you work out, not even a lot, I've had worse workout soreness, seriously)

the rib scar is VERY TINY! Kao is skilled.

this is a reply to bclioness42 since I can't pm
This is what dr. Kao sent me:

The hospital will charge the rib cartilage rhinoplasty 140,000 NTD for primary surgery and 160,000NTD for revision because the revision surgery takes longer time, general anesthesia 4-6 hours and stay a night in the hospital.

The price for GoreTex implantation and ear cartilage grafting for the tip refinement is 85,000NTD under local anesthesia. Plus 10,000-20.000NTD for general anesthesia.

if you can pm me your email, we'll talk about the trip and plan it out together :)

Hi,

I am flying to Dr Kao Taipei from 5 June to 14 June. My consultation is on 6 June, surgery is on 7 June.

Just wondering if anyone interested to share lodging so we can arrange lodging if you happen to go at the same time.

Just asking around, is anyone going to Taiwan for surgery at the end of May? Probably from the 24th onwards? Anyone who's going please email me at [email protected]. Thanks :)

hi,

i am new here and I am considering nose surgery with Dr Kao. i know that Dr Kao has stated on his website that minors under 20 need the permission of a parent to undergo the nose job. does anyone have any idea whether i need my parent to accompany me all the way to the clinic in taiwan?

thank you :)
