Re: rhinoplasty revision with dr. kao

Post by chanelmania77 » Tue, 15 Mar 2011 10:11 am

Yes, Dr Kao told me the same thing too, he said he did stitch the wound beneath the skin wound but not the surface of the wound.. And my wound did heal badly.. Make sure that he stitch the surface of the wound too.. I'm thinking of getting my scar revised...

Hey everyone, my first post here seeing as it took me forever to catch up on the last 90 pages! @_@

Anyway, the thing that all Dr. Kao's patients have been noticing is the lack of stitching on their wounds. I have emailed him regarding this:

"some people in forums are saying you do not stitch your rib wounds, may I ask what your reason for that is? Some of your patients are saying that it caused them to heal badly."

His reply was:
"Another question is not true, I sutured the rib wound subcutaneously and don't need to take out the stitches."

Not exactly sure what that means..? I will be asking him if he means it will dissolve.. or if he somehow stitched it internally so his patients can't see.. or, maybe he just missed a spot, i'm not sure!

Subcutaneous means he brought the wound edges together beneath the skin layer with dissolvable sutures.
I had that done with just steristrip covering the skin, the scar was quite prominent. I was thinking adding skin closure would have given better cosmetic result. Practical experiment: My original scar was revised and of course skin closure with stitches, scar is now less prominent.

I don't want to scare you but better check if it is safe to go there because of the radiation. But you will love Taiwan, the people are friendly...no worries about food and Watson's everywhere and Dr Chuang is friendly.

Hey Great to see that some people share simialar flavour too hee.

I will be quite keen as long as my nose is not satisfactory in the end and if I confirm that this Dr can produce results like the above.

I am hoping to see my testimonials on his work.

Hopefully anyone can find out, please post on the 'China Rhinoplasty Thread' hope to consolidate all information of him there.

I like her pretty face so much! Hopefully I will turn out to resemble her !
There is one picture with her posing with another girl. I think she is the one on the right, but the other girl looks so similar!
@rhinose, I honestly don't know.

But if you see me posting on this forum (in about one months time), ranting like a lunatic, you should know which doc NOT to go to!

Hey terries, I have done it yet, but would be getting it done in two weeks.
After rhino and cheek implants will I still be able to eat chicken cutlet or can only slurp mee sua? How bad is the swelling?

Actually belle80, another forum has kindly shared with me her past terrible experience at W clinic and it has left me horrified, but I can't possible cancel it. I am really at a loss now.

hi jessie,

I can tell you that after rhinoplasty, the first 3-4 days will be hard to open your mouth.

I just use a straw for most of my meals or dice stuff really small.

I can manage to eat bread about single slices max.

you should rely on liquid kind like porridge or mee sua.

A straw would be ideal for any consumption.

I have not done anything with Wish clinic but have gone for consultation and I do not like the sales talk and the profit driven feeling they gave me.
I noticed they make patient wait for like hours even if they had scheduled appointment. To me they are over promising and under delivering.

I reached there at 7pm and only left at midnight. I even saw a disappointed girl who left before me as she had work next day. She waited a couple of hours.

I prefer Dr Su approach and maybe you can try her for eyes.

They are really maximizing profit and they cramp as many surgeries as possible.

I have seen some bad scarring by other patients there.

If you can choose other clinics who are more responsible and less money driven. I advise you to do so.

I have recently bump into a website by a China Dr Wang and I find his results quite good.

I have also received a pm from an ex patient and he is nothing short of praise.

he was an Ex Dr Kao Patient but was unhappy with the SUBTLE result and bad scarring left by maybe poor stitching.

If you want to a star nose maybe you can try him.

GOOD LUCK anyway!

You are right about waiting even when you have an appointment. So if you have an appointment for the afternoon, you won't have time for shopping or anything else afterwards. I believe it is the fault of the receptionists not giving enough time for each appointment.

JESSIE, you can take porridge but with cheek implants, I doubt you can chew anything.
